POTW #237, 21 October - 04 November 2012
Posted By: pentaximus, 10-28-2012, 10:38 AM

Welcome to the Picture of the Week #236. Big thanks to pentaximus for hosting the previous POTW.

Welcome to a Halloween edition of POTW!

This week covers 21 October to 04 November, 2012. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the links to previous POTW threads:

Thanks for hosting, pentaximus!

Two images I took yesterday:

Two excellent samples of two different genres there. The bottom one stands out for me. I think I actually feel the crisp cold on the surface of my screen when touching it. // Nick

Thanks for hosting Pentaximus, good stuff so far this week. Here's a few more backyard shots (I need to get out more!)
Saw these a couple of days ago, fell in love with the first one and thinking I would come back to comment on it....I totaly lost where it was Iīd seen it. Must have spent over an hour yesterday trying to find it without any luck. So, was I happy to come across it now Thereīs many things to like about it but what it more than anything does for me is challange my fantasy. I so wanna grow abit taller so I can see beyond that fence and perhaps even dare jumping it and go exploring whatīs on the other side. One for keeps for sure. // Nick

didn't get to a computer last week.

couldn't sleep this morning and managed to catch a sunrise.

still on the pentax smc 45-125f/4. this is a stitched panorama with all shots taken at 45mm open wide on the kx.
Nice silhouettes and good depth. Felt drawn in. You should do more sunrises // Nick

First oneīs a full moon I struggled with on Wednesday night. The white you can see left of the moon is an aeroplane. Went off the highway and onto a small country road to find peace and darkness to rig the tripod for the shot. Turned out a car passing like every other minute and an aeroplane crossing the sky as often. Anyway, itīs the 18-135 lens as I thatīs what I had with me, HDR and with polarizer. No PP.

The other two are details from a dead old tree from the same day and a play with PP.

Thanks so much for the nice words Nick! I used an *istD and a new-to-me M28/3.5 lens for that shot. I just love the tones I get from this old manual lens, aided by some nice evening light. I really like your moonlight shot, btw - nice work! I need to try my luck with night photography, but I'm too lazy to drag out the tripod

Nice one! I've been seeing quite a few of this type of scene lately, also at sunset, but never have my camera handy. You captured this one beautifully.

Thanks Paul,
An interesting stop the car, change lens, run up a cemetery perimeter and hope for the best. When I returned to the car, a couple pulled in beside me and asked "could I get a copy of that?"

We have had snow on the ground for several weeks now. Here is a fallen leaf. (DA 50-200 WR)

And others that are still on the tree with a bit of a tilt-shift effect. (DA 21 Ltd)

Thanks for hosting Pentaximus. Another fine selection of shots this week. A contribution from me

Little Egret

Visited a Pet shop-This young Iguana gave me some opportunity for a reflection shot

X-posted from Never Ending Story-this bottle made of wire and beads. This has become a popular curio business for many-many artists are springing up just about everywhere. Its cheap and if you have the time, then when why not?

And a short visit to a smallish airport
