POTW #237, 21 October - 04 November 2012
Posted By: pentaximus, 10-28-2012, 10:38 AM

Welcome to the Picture of the Week #236. Big thanks to pentaximus for hosting the previous POTW.

Welcome to a Halloween edition of POTW!

This week covers 21 October to 04 November, 2012. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the links to previous POTW threads:

I'll post some photos this evening. Just wanted to get the new thread up for everyone else. I'm expecting to see a good number of Halloween shots this round...

Post away, everybody!

Pentaximus-I see you can travel in time-backwards nogal. Have'nt had much photo opportunities, weather has been horrible and I've been stuck in-house as it were. Hopefully I'll get some this week as I'm travelling a bit.

Thanks for hosting again, Pentaximus!
The last Saturday in October is a large regatta in Saratoga called the Head of the Fish, on Fish Creek, the outlet of Saratoga Lake. My daughter no longer is rowing after 4 years of high school and four years of college but out of old habit (and a little boredom too), I was over there shooting pictures again and catching up with friends too. My big mistake was not having a tripod because I can't carry it on the Harley (yet) so I was stuck hand holding on a cloudy day but some were usable.

Many thanks for hosting again pentaximus. Only had about an hour for photography in the past week. Here are a couple - K5 and DA 70mm - of fall/autumn colours in a college garden in Oxford. I might post more later in the week.

Ha! Yes, indeed! I've got mods on the case.

I'm still away from my computer. Just checking in by iPhone.

Fantastic start, everyone! I'll post some shots a bit later.

Thanks for hosting again Pentaximus. After over a week of absolutely wintery weather, the snow stopped and the sun came out today. I was able to catch some frosted leaves this afternoon. Both with my K-5 and Tamron 90/2.8.

Nice shots nonetheless, Richard. I, too, forgot my tripod today for a family get together. Fortunately someone else had one, so the family photo was not thwarted.

I love the colors and composition on both of these. The shadowy branches mirroring the branches in the upper part of the first photo is really an interesting look.

The two of you are really working well together! I like the mood of this one.

Beautiful. I especially like the first one with its reds and golds. Fantastic!

I'm sitting here wondering where some of my recent photos are and realized they reside on undeveloped rolls of film.

Anyway, here are some trick-or-treaters warming up around the fire at a friend's house last night.

Two really nice shots there David! It is comforting to know that other parts of the northern hemisphere are entertaining some early snow.

Leaves

The leaves are real, although the green ones look like cloth. I'd be grateful for help with identification.
Thanks very much.

The red one looks like it might be persimmon or blackgum? I'm sure others are better qualified than me to take a stab at it.

Thanks for hosting Pentaximus, good stuff so far this week. Here's a few more backyard shots (I need to get out more!)
