November 18 - December 2"
Posted By: arnold, 11-23-2012, 02:20 PM

"POTW #241 November 18 - December 2" Welcome to the Picture of the Week #241. Big thanks to Nick Nero for hosting and to all for an exceptional POTW #240. Letīs see if we top that over the coming days. Could be a challenge in its own

This week covers 18 November to Dec 2, 2012. That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time.

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the links to previous POTW threads:

Thanks! I love street markets: they are so vibrant and full of interesting faces and London has plenty of them. I don't live there myself but try to visit every week or two.

First one is from the town Iīm stying in for a few days. Had some sunshine up to about lunchtime and came across this magnificent castle.
The other one is of a once was fortress on a rather large island in the Baltic Sea, connected to mainland with a 6km long bridge. Went out there tonight in pitch dark and freezing cold to get this night shot of the ruins. The things we do for love.....or a (hopefully) good shot
Both posted as are. No PP, no crop.

Thank you! Glad you like.
On the top one Iīve got the sun to the left and slightly behind me. Taken around 11am with polarizer. As for the ruins they had placed huge super troopers behind it so the effect of the beams spreading a bit like a fan I got for free. Taken at 11pm with the 18-135 lens at F11, 15sec and iso-640.

Cool shots Nick - that "fan" light effect gives the shot a little something extra

Here's a shot I tried to rescue using the dodge/burn tool in Gimp, with limited success. Jeannie at her favorite spot - on the back of the sofa . I used an M28/3.5 on this one.

I hope to get there on my next trip to Norway. I hope they don't start drilling before I arrive.

I think the moon shots worked very well. They have enough light to make them interesting.

Lofoten iselands are worth a visit. I can give you some help, planning a trip there. Just tell me when, and for how long you will be there.

I really like the BW photo. The bendy shed kept drawing me back in. Nice job

I thought these were pretty good! I esp liked the b/w shot and the last wide shot - that sagging barn was a nice find.

I haven't done shot of the week in ages, It's nice to be back. Here are some shots I took at a protest for Gaza in Ottawa a few days back.

Those are beautiful, I wish they were mine. Great shots Tom. First one is especially nice. Also had full moon here last night, and I did not capture it as I wanted. Maybe still tonight.
