December 9 to December 23

"POTW Welcome to the Picture of the Week #244. December 9 - December 23

That lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time. There are just so many splendid photos out there so let's see you post them to this POW 244

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.

4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the links to previous POTW threads:

Thanks! I think this focal length will be more usable than the 50/1.4.

This is with 400 ASA Kodak Max that expired in June 2004. I noticed the problems were worst when underexposed, with green grainy lumps. However, with these shot at f16 and 1/500 there was plenty of light. I have one more roll of this to test my 'new' cameras.

Definitely, 50mm has its place, but I've not been comfortable with it.

I'm confused. Are we talking film full frame or DSLR?

DSLR! Just an awkward length to me, but fine on film.

Thanks or taking on hosting duties again Arnold. Holiday season, and I've been able to take photos just about every day. Here's a selection.
another of those sunsets

Had occasion to visit a Scrap metal yard, and with permission from the owner, I was allowed to take some photos. Just to explain that, security is tight at a place like this, as it is big business, and I heard that recently they were robbed by some Shotgun wielding guys. I liked this shot.

And a visit to an antique shop allowed me some shots too-a veritable photographers paradise are these antique shops- This is one of a few beautiful goblets.

And of course it is the rainy season-we've had plenty of showers, so I took advantage to capture some images.

And more raindrops

And more raindrops

So many excellent pictures. Too many to comment on them all, but what a record for the historians one day. I would never have thought of photographing scrap metal, yet look at the colours and pattern there.

Arnold! They will raise statues and name streets after you one day

Then I gotta say it looks almost intentional that Rune´s auroras are followed by a Jo´burg sunset. Two sides of the world, same sky.

Haven´t touch the camera for a week and a half so felt is was time to take her out for an evening stroll. // Nick

Wow, that night lamp-lit snow road is captivating. Feel like I'm there even if I swelter in summer heat.

Beautiful photos, everyone. I really don't have much new to contribute, but the other day I took out my little-used Purple Fringe Monster (Promaster 70-300) for a spin. It took massive amounts of PP to make these semi-presentable! So with great reluctance, I present the results .

The one that got away! I had the lens racked all the way out for this one -
