POTW #248 6 Jan 2013 through 20 Jan 2013
Posted By: Douge, 01-12-2013, 12:29 PM

Welcome to Picture of the week #248 covering 6 Jan 2013 through 20 Jan 2013. I am new to Pentax forums, so please let me know if I made any mistakes in the dates etc. I am relatively new to photography, so I may not have the most insightful commentary. If you would like to host next week please send me a PM, otherwise I will be asking you. Last week we had a lot of beautiful shots, and new members! This POTW lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week. POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. We can share ideas, learn from one another, and have a good time. There are just so many splendid photos out there so let's see you post them to this POW 248.

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.
2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.
4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the records of previous POTW threads:

Love the three roses. Reminds me of three posh ladies have an educated discussion, or maybe afternoon tea. // Nick

Spending rest of the week a few hours down south the country, I got some free time after work and went out in the dark, the snowfall and the -6c to see what I could find to feed the camera with. Found a rather spectacular cemetary and did a couple long exposures. Wanted to capture the falling snow that framed the cross, but it just wasn´t possible. If the weather allows it, I´m sure to go back tomorrow night.
Only have the lap top so this is right out of the box, no PP.

I've been in kind of a winter funk lately and I haven't done any shooting. This morning however, I was rudely awakened to the sound of a car crashing into my front yard. The young girl was actually heading in the opposite direction when she hit the guard rail across the road and spun around and hit the tree and my garbage can. She was taken away in an ambulance after hitting her head but I don't think it's anything serious. My only damage was a broken window which was caused by my recycling bucket hitting it. K5 and DA 15.

Thank you, Arnold. That one took ten minutes while on the other one I spent an hour. That´s part of the charm with this hobby

Thank God for that tree. Otherwise it looks she would have slammed right into the house. // Nick

No kidding! (Hope the tree is ok, too!) Maybe you should think about a few well-placed boulders to act as a barrier...

With ref to prev post I skipped returning to the cemetary tonight as I came across this pretty little park. Freezing cold and no long johns. I´m sure to never forget to dress warm again

Looks like inexperience in the girl, was an experience for you. Luckily no serious damage or injury.

Thanks Nick. I like those last frigid shots of yours - still, quiet, and COLD!
