Weekly Challenge 232 - Selective Colour
Posted By: tessfully, 02-03-2013, 10:13 AM

Thank you Stephen for hosting last weeks challenge "Cold as Ice" ... It was a great topic and placing first is an amazing honour.

I hope this isn't too much of a post processing challenge, but I have always enjoyed the creative output of selective colour images. I have a real appreciation for wild and whacky creative designs and also find great pleasure in viewing subtle and strategic use of the technique. I have used it seldom so will enjoy seeing new ideas and ways to employ Selective Colour.

I don't have many examples. Here is my best friend's dog, Lakoda...

The challenge will end Saturday February 9, 2013 and I will announce the winner Sunday morning.

Previous 15 weeks:

Mine is natural selective color shot, a black dog against a black background.

I seem to be drawn to this effect most often with red, possibly because if I want to use a red filter to enhance a blue sky in B&W, the red tends to be lightened more than I might like. Here is a favourite:

Thanks for this topic, Tess. I'd never given selective coloration a serious try before, and you encouraged me to do it. So here's my entry...

Hehe, Touché

I'm just wondering, are we supposed to select one colour, or select an area/object to colour?

Hi Douge, I expect people to interpret the theme however they wish. Wonderful diverse styles have already emerged.
