POTW #253 10 Feb 2013 through 24 Feb 2013
Welcome to Picture of the Week #253 covering 10 Feb 2013 through 24 Feb 2013. Thanks to lukulele and all of last week's participants for their stellar work. If you would like to host next week please send me a PM, otherwise I will be asking you. This POTW lets you show off any shots you took last week but haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week. POTW is a great place to show what you've been shooting day-to-day. We can share ideas, learn from one another, tell stories, and have a good time. There are just so many splendid photos out there so let's see you post them to this POTW 253.

Again same rules as always:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.
2) Lets keep it to fewer than 6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung SLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR.
4) Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Nice to see the Q's capabilities fulfilled. I'm just beginning to use mine with a m42 SMC 135/ 3.5 and 50 1.4. Crank that LCD brightness up if you haven't already. I'll probably try one of the
$13 v1 Nikon covers and mill the mount laterally to see how that does. It really is a sight for old eyes.

Beautiful shots dave. What kind of bird is that? It looks similar to our chickadee.

As indicated by mecrox, it is a female Bullfinch. They are pretty common hereabouts, the males are much more colourful.

Here are a few I took yesterday. Shoveling the snow is a bit boring, so I decided to try and flip it up in the air with my shovel, and attempt to get a picture. A bit hard with one hand. My Neighbours must think I'm a bit batty.

You may be a bit batty, but you still take wonderful photos-especially like the one with the sun.

Here are a few more ice sculptures. I was taking pictures in the snow the other week with a CP filter, and noticed the icicles I took ended up looking very boring, like rock salt. Glad I didn't use one for the sculptures. The more reflections the better Although I do wonder what they'd look like with the filter.

The ice sculptures look amazing, so sharp and clear. I love the shade of blue (also in your snow pics later). And that sparrow caught just so. A productive week!

Too much work and no traveling with good photo oportunities lately, i.e. feel i´ve been a bit off lately. That said I see a lot off life, and a lot of new life too, on the thread Packing for a week of skiing, and shooting of course, in Austria I hope to eventually contribute with some pix from the Alps For now a couple of snapshots from a gig last Friday with my son and his band...........
