Weekly Challenge # 237- Colour and Contrast

Welcome to this weeks Challenge # 237, which I titled "Colour and Contrast". For this Challenge I am looking for mostly two colour or 2 tone images, with the colors presented in contrast. Of course more than two colours are welcome, provided that they add to the image in terms of contrast rather than being a distraction. B/W too are welcome, but in this instance I will be looking for stark contrast between black and whte, and grey should be minimum and inobtrusive as possible. This then is a little more that minimalist photography, I believe that two contrasting color toned images are visually appealing and captivating (just don't use my poor examples as proof
Below are some examples I took recently, and which gave me the idea for this challenge.

Red and Brown Contrast

Pink and Blue contrast

White and Burgundy

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread. If it's not obvious, explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge closes after 7 days, then allows for a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera will do.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass the baton to that person to be the judge.

The Challenge will close at Midnight Sunday 23 March 2013, MDT. And seeing that I will be asleep for by then, judging will take place Monday morning South African time. In which case there is allowance for a few late entries after midnight.

Good luck and I am sure to be blown away by the creativity and techniques of fellow Pentaxians.

Thanks Tim This was up in Paulding County. I've been reading about two snowys up there that had been around for most of the winter, I think. Saturday morning they were spotted early so I decided to drive up and see if I could find them. We actually found both owls and saw them briefly together. It was about an hour long drive up there and well worth it, since we may never see them again. Without snow they really stand out, and was cool to see owls so active in daylight. Of course they are used to 23 hours of daylight.

Natural contrast Red and Green - by the aperture shape this would be taken with the Macro Takumar 50mm

I have quite a few that fit the theme, but I like this one very much for the almost rendering-like appearance and the contrast is on the subtle side.

Welcome, I see you are fairly new Agalliac. Your entry is a bit late,as the competition closed midnight last night, and was also submitted after I posted the winners. Sorry about that. A lovely image, and meets all the criteria too. Please check out the Thread announcing the winners here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/weekly-photo-challenges/219545-weekly-cha...-contrast.html.

Hope we see more of you n the weekly challenges.
