How about a Picture Of The Week 'contest'? Not judged like the weekly or monthly judged contests but a place to post 1-4 of your best shots from the past week. The 'host' of the current week will pick a new host for the next week from the submissions.

So I'll start with a few from this week and this one will close on Sunday night the 16th. I'll pass the next POTW to someone that posts pictures here.

Rules:
1) No theme just your favourite stuff.
2) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR
3) Runs for 7 days March 9-16th

That's a great idea Pete. Perhaps also worth its own gallery (winners) thread?
Will back you up as soon as have scanned the SD card and maybe (read: never gets it right) tweaked with a bit of PP.
Good going, and hope you get plenty of support.

All good shots Peter, I'll have to have a look - were those really taken this week ? I would have epxepcted more evidence of snow - or you hid it well. I am still playing catch up with work. Did take a few yesterday will post some of them later (easy choice for me this week haha)

Dave, I was on the road all week and the snow hit new Brunswick the worst. The lighthouse was taken in the southern part of Nova Scotia near Digby (all they got was rain) on Wednesday morning. The 2 ice shots were PEI on Sunday morning and the Sunrise/boat was in Yarmouth NS on Thursday.

This is a pretty varied region when it comes to weather and I'm all over the place. When PEI got the freezing rain, Bathurst NB got 60Cms of snow and has topped 470 Cms so far this winter!!

What is that thing?

Wait a sec...I seem to remember now, from the dark recesses of my brain. They're called "flowers", no? Don't they, like, come out of the ground or something?

This winter thing is getting ridiculous. It needs to be over. Now.

But anyway, here's mine. Too bad it wasn't in time for the "symmetry" contest.

I hear ya Finn. Look at Ken's shot above. I was just in Ottawa and the snow was nearly gone from the ground. No way to see that that is a BBQ with out the comments!! Nice shot Btw. Looks good Ranamar! What city is that James?

Hey Peter, it is a great topic. Again, I posted it in the last minute before heading to a code this afternoon.

It is the city I live in - Melbourne. The yellow bit is pollution. Artistic in deed. But Catholic church just classified that as part of new 14 sins!

So Melbourne is a sinful city.

So you could post 4 shots altogether? Pity that I had not processed much from the shots taken last week!

Fantastic initiative! And I will try to limit myself to fresh images, shot in the week or previous one.

Some variations on a theme I took hoping for one good enough to be entered in the weekly challenge: (vignette added for effect; it's not the lens)

And the one I thought notable that I entered:

That Tamron 28-75mm we all so love has some serious resolving power! She's a sharp one.

And since this one was taken less then 7 days before this thread started...

That's the spirit everyone. Some great images. I like the vignette effect (sepia? too) on these M80. You model seems to be giving you lots of time. Nice dog.
That a great shot of the metal butterfly James and what more can I say about the model shoot? The fair grounds shot is cool.
Love the bike shots, particularly the second one.

A couple of shots taken in my yard at the weekend. Being a very keen gardener (I work at Botanic Gardens, looking after irrigation, what a massive job, headaches galore), I tend to finish up with a large amount of flower shots from my garden. I simply have to diversify more.
