POTW #266 May 12-26 2013
Posted By: SpecialK, 05-19-2013, 05:56 AM

Welcome to another round of Picture of the Week. This is edition #266 covering May 12 2013 through May 26 2013.

POTW is a great spot to show off any shots you take in the upcoming week, or last week that you haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

Same rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.
2) 5 or less images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big.
3) Any Pentax or Samsung camera, film or digital.

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the records of previous POTW threads:

Thanks for hosting, SpecialK! Great self portrait by the way!

This week I received an offer I couldn't refuse: a very reasonable priced FA 1:2.8 50 mm Macro. Even though I wasn't looking for the lens I had to buy it. Some of the images I took with this amazing lens:

I was going to post something, but I think I'll keep admiring these shots for a bit, David. WOW! I wasn't looking for this lens either, but maybe now I am.

Okay, here are a few things.

A Vietnamese congregation shares our church building and these are a couple of shots from their setup for a Mother's Day event.

We have a house guest this week. Say hello to Sunshine. So far things have gone really well.

And here's a contrasty black and white, because everyone takes pictures of their stacks of bills, right?

That's it for now.

David - great shots- especially the first one. This lens is on my list but I am not searching. Maybe one day I will find one.

Pentaximus - love that b/w - just imagine these are something different.

After a while it was again the moment for some time underground - well it was raining outside anyway.

Next station in next post

Thanks for hosting this week SpecialK. Good opening shot!
David, Wow, some macro's for a change. I'm putting that lens on the list, though right now it is so low on the list it's inlikely I will get in in my life time. But you never know! I like that first one. Is that a Dandelion?
Pentaximus, I also like that B/W, love the composition and the angle. Well as for Sunshine, what an apt name. So far? Waiting with bated breath! Those blighters can be so naughty.
Clou- as usual crisp shots, and very appealing symmetry from all you pics, but the 1st one and 2nd last one are superb! And gotta ask this- what rules were you breaking when you took #4? I somehow imagine you straddled legs apart above the line, with bated breath as the conductor walks past?
Here's some I took on Saturday

Have a great week ahead everyone!

Thanks for hosting Special K. Wow, quite some line up of images to start the week! Spring is in full bloom here and this weekend I managed to find some wildflowers in full bloom.
Wild clematis

Thanks for hosting Kyle,

Are you sure it was dizziness? If it was me, it would be the shakes from sheer excitement. Lovely! I am still to get some decent shots of an Osprey. They are found here but not often seen.

It's a good thing you didn't. It looks like a good one. I'm not sure what that first one is...

I wanted a more-piraty shot from the Pirate Days in San Diego (which was sort of a let down), but this 4-hour cruise was nice - and only $44.

Electronic bill-paying is the key.

Those are nice graphic-like images.

Very nice and peaceful. I'd like to be on that lake.

I like that bee. Did you wait for him, or just catch him?

I somehow don't do wildlife. I should probably get my 150-500 fixed and do some.

I've been absent for a while, recovering from surgery to repair arthritis damage in my right foot. I've been hopping around with crutches or a walker since the first of April. It's been tough now that the weather has started to get nice. Our lilacs are in full bloom and my wife wanted some shots so I did the best I could with my one legged crutches technique. Could have been a little sharper I suppose but ok as long as you don't pixel peep. With the K5 and DA 40 Ltd.

I go to the doctors tomorrow and if all is well, I will be walking and driving again and most of all, getting out of the house to shoot.

Reeftool, glad to hear you are recovering. The one-legged technique works very well. Super shots. Love the colors.
Here two more from me.
The lake is quite small actually. I do my daily exercise walk here Mon-Fri, and its 1.1km around.

And when I got home around 6pm on that Saturday, the moon was beautiful- it has grown somewhat since its quarter phase. Again with the FA 70-300 + x2 Teleconverter.
