Potw #2
Posted By: Eaglerapids, 03-16-2008, 03:12 PM

Ok guys, time for the Picture of the Week #2!
Thanks Peter for allowing me to host #2:-). It was a great idea and with spring coming (more or less) to most of us, it's time to get out and shoot some photos.
Here's the link to the first POTW: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/mini-challenges-games/22484-potw-1-a.html
to give you an idea of how this works.
The rules are simple:
1) No theme just your favourite stuff.
2) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR
3) Runs for 7 days March 16th-23rd
Next Sunday I'll pick a host for the next week from the entries.

I haven't taken any examples today but I'm going to take this opportunity to post this quick shot I took over at a friends house last week:-)

Peter set the precedent of posting 1-4 photos so let's see lot's of them!
Wooooohoooooo Spring is here! (more or less:-))

Rosemary, I'm looking forward to this season's flora pictures from you. You're setting the bar quite high already. Outstanding photos.
And Dave, your second pic in particular, is beautiful, my favorite of your set. The FA* 300/4.5, in capable hands, is such an incredible lens. I wonder if the DA* 300/4 will be able to hold a candle to it in terms of IQ.
Great pic of the fox borno!
Thank you I am so looking forward to seeing what my new lens can help me do!

Nice to see the thread developing this way. Some great shots from all.
elnero, I really like those landscapes especially the first and last. Great stuff.

Finn, I wasn't sure what I was looking at in the first but the 2 together make a very good 'series' . Really nice angle to get this idea across. Good B&W's as well.

Bud, great butterfly shot and you last one made me thirsty love the sharpness and colour. The twisted glass is my favourite from this series.

Good sharp shot of the moon BPT. What lens? Looks like you had a great night for it.

Dave, Looks like things around here. Nice shot of the frozen rose hips. The river is a good one as well. Hopefully there will be open water there soon.

Love the fox shot Borno. He really blends in well with the tall grass. Looks like he spotted you. Great capture. At least the eagles are on the right side of the tree this time. I really like that last shot with the talons out for a landing.

Some fun people shots James. The second one is cool. Don't know what that thing is but a good capture. The mask is kinda scary, what's his message???

rmtagg, great stuff. Really deep rich colours there. Nice to see some flowers while I freeze up here. The second with the bee is great.

For a fast snap you did well with that shot Bruce. I've never seen a bug like that before and he's well captured. Come on you've got more flowers. I need some colour!!!

ranamar, Good street shots. The first 2 are great. Love that old building mixed in with the modern stuff.

Dave K that squirrel is a show stopper. Great capture and well taken in all respects. Very good efforts in the entire series. The last one had me laughing. Fun stuff.

Xs400, that's what I needed. It's cold and rotten windy weather here this week. That series was a tonic. Nice colour and well shot . The 2nd is my favourite of the bunch.

Beautiful stuff Kim. All three are great. Nice to see a variety and the Bull is the best IMO of the 3.

What an interesting spot gpaual. Nice capture. Where is that? Certainly not Florida. Looks like a rock slide.

Couple of Macros taken yesterday (or day before) with DFA50m. Autumn is a good time here for some flowers, temperature is very mild. Great time of year!
1. Clivia
2. Anisodontia (not too sure of the spelling of that one)

I took a ride out to my favorite hunting area, saw some critters and some waterfowl. I was excited to see some pintails as I've never seen them while hunting in the fall.

Yesterday's weather was fine after two weeks of greyness, so went to walk and took some photos, just in time for the second Potw:

Smoothness and the directional carvings come from movement of the big continental glacial during the last ice age.
