POTW #273 - 30 June through 14 July 2013
Posted By: Paleo Pete, 07-07-2013, 06:06 AM

Welcome to another round of Picture of the Week. This is edition #272 covering 23 June through 7 July 2013.

POTW is a great spot to show off any shots you take in the upcoming week, or last week that you haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

Same rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.
2) 5 or less images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big.
3) Any Pentax or Samsung camera, film or digital.

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Here are the records of previous POTW threads:

I had a wacko weekend, never had a chance to PM anyone to take over this time, so I'll keep it running for another week. We had some great shots last week, I hope to see many more this time around.

So off we go, I'll start with one I took this morning form my garden.

wolfiegirl - Glad you could join in, seeing some really cool shots this week. Your post is no exception, nice shots of the little one. They're a lot of fun at that age...well most of the time anyway...as long as they're someone else's...lol

I really like that last one though, great look on her face and I'm a sucker for a good B&W anyway...

Thanks Paleo Pete

haha, yes I know - adorable and fun. Full of giggles and smiles. But the min they start fussing and crying and waking through the night, you're more than glad to hand them over..... if only I could...

Another night of 1-3-3-4-2. That's hours between wakes... It's amazing I can even function. *slumps over keyboard*

@Papa Lazarou - another beautiful collection!

paulh - some pretty cool looking shots there. hot enough for you? I'm just a few hours away in the Lufkin area. I've been inside all day...don't think I've even taken a shot today...gotta change that...
Thanks Pete, and yes it is plenty hot enough for me, too! Note that all my pics were shot at sundown, when it was 'only' 95F or so . We're enjoying a rare cool & rainy morning today though, hope you're getting some as well. Meanwhile I suggest finding some shade under those big pines in your area .

More contributions from me:
We were walking in a street that I spotted this advertisement, four boards are related to each other, I liked the idea, so tried to get all of the in one shot

It was my first time going down the streets and photographing strangers I think it was because of having DA 21 ltd attached ))
another one:

Bubble man

So far I like my new lens

Papa Lazarou - All nice shots, good job on the Damselfly. Those guys aren't easy, I've been trying to shoot them for several years. I think I like the white flower best, excellent shot there.

mtux - nice. I haven't been able to try the K30 in the rain yet, no WR lens. I like the composition of the first shot really well.

ramseybuckeye - That camera looks familiar for some reason...lol Maybe it's because I have one sitting beside me? Good shot form the Q. I've never used one.

paulh - No rain here yet, but it's looking like it will be here before long. We're actually getting rid of those big pines, between the bugs and the drought they are mostly all dying. One fell on top of my mother's house this winter, we had to fix the roof. A guy was here to cut it earlier that day but couldn't because of 40-45mph winds...a couple of hours after he decided climbing it was a bad idea the top broke out...I think he cut 5 down including that one, I'm still burning logs...and now we have a big dead Oak we're cutting to deal with, before it drops more limbs on the house. Big means almost 3 feet in diameter at waist level...and leaning in a bad direction...with very large dead limbs...that are directly over power lines...

most people would look at you funny if you said "only" 95°F...unless they're from around here...

mtux - You posted while I was typing. Cool new shots, great perspective in the first one. Looks like the new lens is doing well.
