Welcome to another round of Picture of the Week. This is edition #274 covering 14 July through 28 July 2013.

France we have had the Bastille Day fireworks, two different locations on consecutive nights:

Good work here, very pleasant on the eye. Been some "time" since I was here geomez, so here is a 6x6 from a Voigtlander Perkeo folder camera and Kodak Ektar 100.

On monday I went to Altnau in Switzerland with friends to take some images during sunset:







For the last shot I was standing knee-deep in the water and wishing for a weather-resistant DA 15 mm Limited ;-)

Went out the past couple of days with my A series 50mm f1.4 for a few shots.

Beebalm has started blooming recently, this was at f8.



And took it out this morning and just for fun tried a shot of a Grey Hairstreak at f1.4, wide open. Not bad but this lens can do a lot better...I probably should have sharpened it a bit but didn't...

Those are lovely shots, Davidw0815. Given the searing temperatures here, where there is a heatwave, any shots containing water are very welcome!

mecrox - Thanks, that A 50 is my favorite of all my nifty fifties. I use it almost every time I want a 50. I'll grab up the f1.7 now and then or the old K series f1.4, but usually it's that A series 50mm f1.4 if I want to shoot some 50mm shots. It never lets me down...I rarely use it wide open though.

ramseybuckeye - interesting rainbow shots, are you aware that rainbows actually have no end? they're circular. You just can't see the whole thing.

I haven't played this game in a long long time. I have problems with my eyes now so I can't shoot that great but I went out this afternoon and found this only one shot that I thought might be in focus. Well, it's better in focus than the other six shots I took.

It's been a pretty good weekend with a lot of photo opportunities.

I went to the Columbus Jazz and Rib Festival and it was raining when I got there, no problem with the K-30 and DA18-135.
