Weekly Challenge - Rule Clarification
Posted By: atupdate, 03-23-2008, 05:19 AM

As the winner of Weekly Challenge #50, I want to ask a straw vote regarding Rule #7 before I start the next challenge.

7. Any camera will do but it must be a Pentax. Just use any camera you want. No discriminating anyone as long as the shooter is an active member here.

Back in Challenge #23, JonasB amended the rule from Must Be A Pentax to the one above. My question is .....

Do we want to open this challenge to any camera or restrict it to Pentax only?

Let me know what you think.

Tim

I always interpreted this to be as:

7. Any camera will do but it must be a Pentax. Just use any model you want. No discriminating anyone as long as the shooter is an active member here.

Like SLR/DSLR/P&S Pentax cameras all would qualify...

I can't see much issue with Samsung D-SLR's since they are clones of the Pentax's but the P&S versions are their own product.

I, too, agree with all others, for keeping it "Pentax Only" ( and that includes ALL cameras ever sold under the PENTAX name). This the PENTAXFORUMS, so I think that title, says it all!

# I just saw the comments re Samsung! I dont know enough about them to include or exclude them!

OK, so it's Pentax only. That's how I've been interpreting the rule anyway. I can live with this even though I'm new to Pentax and have some very nice archive shots taken with my Kodak P&S and Ricoh XR-7 35 mm (Pentax mount! Does that count for anything? )

So Tim, what's the next challenge ????????

Morning.
Pentax. That was the original concept.

Alright, the consensus appears to be Pentax only plus Samsung DSLR's. I'll post the next challenge directly with the clarified rule.

You may remeber that I questioned that internally contradictory rule last week - glad to see the consensus has decided to rationalise the rule for this challenge.
Pentax all the way!!! Even if a Samsung 'overcoat' is also allowed.

Am all for active member, seems to me tho' that he is saying.....

( Any camera will do *but it must be a Pentax*. Just use any camera you want. No discriminating anyone as long as the shooter is an active member here.)

........That ANY pentax camera will do. (?)

Anyone know the reason for the 800x800 size rule? It seems to be violated with some frequency and I've never seen it enforced.

IMHO, if its not being enforcred, we should drop it and just use a physical size limit.
