Weekly Challenge #259."Now that's a different look"
Posted By: charliezap, 09-25-2013, 07:19 AM

Wow- I was thrilled to win this challenge with all its great entries.Kudos to all. A great job of judging by Tom.I saw the results late last night and right now I'm on vacation in Niagara Falls Canada so I'm trying to pick a challenge on the fly so to speak so here we go..There are many everyday scenes even right around us that we take for granted that do make for good shots especially when viewed from a different perspective. Here a few examples-some of these you may have seen before.Have fun with this.--charliezap
I will be back from vacation on Monday so I will close the contest on Wednesday Oct.3rd at midnight Boston time.

Rules are as follows:

1. Post one photo (max 1024 X 1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3.Post your single photo in this thread. If it's not obvious, explain what motivated you to submit the photo and how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4.The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5.The judge will pick the winner, who will then host and judge the next week's challenge.
6.The challenge closes after seven days. This allows a day for the judge to pick the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung) DSLR is acceptable.
8. Photos can be from any time frame, not just the week of the current challenge.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge of the next week's challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass on the baton to that person to host and judge the next week's challenge

Hey, if there's something you're really good at, why stop?

Nice competition, makes you look (through your archives) and think somewhat. Neither of these produced much, so I'm stuck with having to use this- Water Pipe.

I have used this shot in challenges before. I still can't figure out how this image came out the way it did given where I was standing in relation to this building, but I like the unbalanced feel.

Sometime you lay on the ground to get the view you want, this was at the State Fair, my wife always walks away and acts like she doesn't know me when I do things like this. I don't know if it's that unusual but I like the colors.

I must have had a brain cramp.I initially said the challenge would be over on Wed Oct 3rd.The 3rd is on a Thursday and I'll go with that.I'm going for my yearly physical tomorrow and maybe that will explain my convoluted rational.--charliezap
