Hi everyone, my apologies, this POTW is a bit late. Have not received any offers to host, so I'm doing it again, and a pleasure it is too- my favourite thread. And we had another bumper edition last week, so lets keep u standard for this weeks POTW.

Thanks for hosting again Noel. I finally got out yesterday to capture some of the fall colour before it is too far past it's prime. I was sick with complications following dental surgery and it is good to have the energy, creative and otherwise to get back out with a camera. These were all taken in the city (lucky to have such rustic spaces) with my handy MX-1.

The annual Orange County auto show in Anaheim.


Hooters hosted a chicken wing-eating contest, and later a Miss OC International Hooter Girl contest. Sorry for the Hooter Girls blocking the view.


The annual Del Mar mud run was a bit disappointing as there was very limited spectator access to the actual run, which was not all that muddy.

Rear view mirror shot, I missed a better one, a guy was hanging out the passenger window of a car holding a tripod with a compact camera on it, not sure if he was shooting video or what, but I couldn't get a half decent shot of him.






The tall building has colored lights, the sculpture is reflecting lights from some video signs.

Your photographs are superb, StephenHampshire! All sorts of photographs this week from the bright colours of South Africa and Australia, where I wish I was given that folks seem to be having a fabulous time in the sunshine, to jmschrei's lovely images of autumn, through ramseybuckeye's night shots to SpecialK's action. That kicking bull is clearly an absolute beserker. It needs to go on a plate with some fries soonest for its own safety! Here are a few of mine:

Thanks for hosting again Noel. Don't know about keeping it up to standard, but I'll try to keep it up to my standards...

Been out walking and biking with some nifty fifties and a 135, some of the better ones from the past few days.

I think this was with the A 50, used one extension tube, 20mm extension if I remember correctly.



Loads of wild Sunflowers blooming, Maximillian Suflowers I think, and I've been trying to get some decent shots early in the AM with some dew on them. Glad to see some dew, we need all the moisture we can get, it's been way dry here in Texas this summer. These were taken with the M 50mm f1.7 that I had to fix a few days ago.





And a Vermillion Flycatcher, 1st one I've seen, using a Makinon K mount 135mm that I've never really liked all that well, but have been trying to get a few decent shots with it since my 200mm is dead.
