P52-5-41: Subject — Vehicles
Posted By: Tsukiouji, 10-28-2013, 04:59 AM

For this week lets shun away from parks and nature and embrace the technology — Vehicles, the Project52 classic.

Tips and references:
P52-1-23 Winning entry by workingdog.
P52-2-38 Winning entry by Xsalfior

(Photos for the Week #41 competition are to be taken between Oct 28, 2013 and Nov 3, 2013.)

Rules
1. Anyone and everyone interested in challenge is eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-5 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by non Pentax cameras are allowed.
Cameras may be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot, Medium Format, et cetera.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from thread start date to listed closing date is acceptable.

Wile taking the grand kids trick or treating I saw this car decorated up . I am beginning to think I should follow the "Tripod don't leave home without it" rule . Which of coarse I did.

Still another day to shoot. Don't be shy. Oh, I also consider planes, trains, scooters, rockets, etc. vehicles, so don't feel limited to automobiles.

From yesterday. I am finding that I like to shoot B&W better than color for cars and finding that I like to shoot them wide open and leave negative black space (although it is not that evident in this photo). Because most car shows have cars very close to each other, trying to get a shot of the entire car is useless so I look for interesting angles that most people wont get. I am usually the guy in a weird position.

You can always take technology out of nature, and you can never take nature out of technology.

You embraced that car too tightly Great shot!

Here's one that would not be very challenging technologically speaking. Shaped like an Orange, and probably used more for advertising purposes than anything else. Outspan is brand name of navelate navel Oranges- and somewhat connected with the apartheid SA, and calls for its boycott by overseas companies was common. You can also see a pic of it here: File:Outspan Orange.jpg - Wikimedia Commons. Apparently only 3 were ever made, so I was glad to get to see this one at the James Hall Museum of Transport, which I visited especially for this challenge. Can't believe I have lived in Johannesburg for over 30 years and only now get to visit this museum. Another visit on the cards soon.

Not for judging, as it was taken ~2 years ago.
