Potw #5 - 30 March - 13 April 2008
Posted By: daacon, 04-06-2008, 04:47 PM

Picture of the Week #5. There has been great particiaption in the previous 4 so let's keep it up .. Post up everyone.

Here's the link to the First POTW #1 to get an idea of how it works https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/mini-challenges-games/22484-potw-1-a.html

The rules are simple:
1) No theme just your favourite stuff.
2) lets keep it to about 4-6 images just so the thread doesn't get too big each week
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days April 6th to April 13th
5)Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Next Sunday I'll pick a host for the next week from the entries.

I'll start this was taken yesterday (yes yesterday freaking snow !) actually as thread owner the rules do not apply to me hahah

It is not so easy to get them looking good but I love how they come out when it is right as a matter of fact I hope and am keeping my fingers crossed that I have an amazing Friday morning. A museum is going to review my pics, if approved one will be cataloged and put up during their reception and auction on the 18th. Right now I am so excited and nervous at the same time i can't sleep! LOL

Thanks Dave. Actually they are called Lady Beetle, even though male or female. Dont know how that came about, but that is their title.

Flower Power - bring color to my still colorless world thanks !

bbpa103 - nice symmetric capture with the drops right place right time.

Kim great ball shots - our first game is scheduled for 30th April - can only hope the weather co-operates - and I really like the creativity of that hand shot from your students, and of course the flowers

Rosemary - you have that technique down to a fine science - good luck with the sale !

James - love the framing , almost looks like a ray of light is projected from inside the flower , bokeh is outstanding.

OMG Some signs of Spring !

While working from the 'home office' I looked out my window and did a double take!! I saw color!!! While I am no Tom Lusk or Walter or Marc or any of the other great bird people of the Pentax Forum, this is the best I could do in the 5 minutes I had before they flew off (taken with the Bigma) the Branches caused some focus grief for sure

I wanted to go outside to get closer; however I figured they would flock off soon and sure enough. These Jays give me some hope spring will come!!

Dave, sorry I missed answering you question, no, no flash, purely the sun caused the spot of light onthe beetle.

James, that's a great shot. The colours just jump off the screen. Nice to see some spring birds dave. Bring seed with you tomorrow and you can get a little closer. Cool to capture so many in one tree.

Reknelb, Loke the Canadian geese the best. The mist over the water and warm light is great.

Pentax-F 50mm F1.7. I love how sharp this lens is, oh, and the bokeh too.
