Potw #5 - 30 March - 13 April 2008
Posted By: daacon, 04-06-2008, 04:47 PM

Picture of the Week #5. There has been great particiaption in the previous 4 so let's keep it up .. Post up everyone.

Here's the link to the First POTW #1 to get an idea of how it works https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/mini-challenges-games/22484-potw-1-a.html

The rules are simple:
1) No theme just your favourite stuff.
2) lets keep it to about 4-6 images just so the thread doesn't get too big each week
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days April 6th to April 13th
5)Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Next Sunday I'll pick a host for the next week from the entries.

I'll start this was taken yesterday (yes yesterday freaking snow !) actually as thread owner the rules do not apply to me hahah

I've only taken about 4 pictures in the last week. So picking my POTW is a pretty simple process.

A couple more of my wife's cat, Cleo.

I guess everybody is busy spring cleaning , no pun intended for you Dave .

My share :

I went to this place for my personal project of Sub-Urban Decay . This perhaps a nice storage building in the middle of all other "ugly" empty structures that nobody wants .

Taken w/ PZ 1P VS I 19-35 Kodak 160VC

Now we are cooking...
Fritz - nice cat capture - the expression is one of curiosity or "...if you don't put that camera down ' ...haha nice detail
dantuyhoa - nice urban shots. I particularly like the second one. The old brick building next to the modern structures is a nice contrast
lastdodobird - nice variety, good colors. I really like the last one. Between the sand, water, mountain, sky and clouds there are so many subtle colors well done.

Keep'em comming

Some good stuff everyone.
I like the riverboat shot. Nice series there. dantuyhoa. Something about the second shot is good. The contrasts of colour and structures. Nice angle.
The cat looks content fritz, bet he's been shot more than once!
Dave the ornage look almost like the center is a syrup. Nice work with the 105.

Going to the zoo with a camera is way too much fun... because the photo opp's change every time you're there.

Here's my faorites from Sunday's visit

"Yep... looks like a cavity... "

"And when you get around to brushing your teeth... you might try a little mouthwash, too.... WHEW!!"

And the proud, and rightfully so... Peacock

Peter , Dave : Thanks guys . I like it too, I spend 4 hours on this complex . That Steel/Brick photo just jumped out on me . Have you guys have the feeling that some images just ...telling you to shoot ! The geometry , eye leading path , the contrast ..all fit into one image .

I like that orange shot . different but look delicious .

That "captain" shot is really cool , atupdate .

The peacock shot is NBC material , alright . Well done , Bud.

I'm quite interested in the last shot by weatherwise2 . Perhaps my eyes are into geometry nowaday .

Next : Soul food

It's a hot of Pho . A popular Viet soup / meal-in-a bowl . It has been shot to death all over the net so I try to bring some warm touch to the shot by playing with the lights . We all love to go to one fav spot , not because of the food but importantly , of how "loved" we are there .
