Welcome to another round of Picture of the Week. This is edition #295 covers 22nd December 2013 - 5th January 2014.

POTW is a great spot to show off any shots you take in the upcoming week, or last week that you haven't processed until now. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.
2) 5 or less images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big.
3) Any Pentax or Samsung camera, film or digital.

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between Noon EDT and 5PM EDT on Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact bluestringer, Moderator via PM.

Yesterday I had to travel across the state and took a few photos on my way back. The western sky was a nice pastel backdrop for Canada Geese at Killdeer Plains.

And I stopped in Kenton to get the Hardin County Couthouse with the Christmas lights on.

Thanks for Hosting Josh, and so early in the thread, and already a super bunch of pics, starting with SpecialK's cars. I like that 3rd one, SpecialK. They cans ay what they like, but modern plastic materials just don't match the elegance of a wooden dashboard.
Josh, the famous Sydney to Hobart Yacht race you have captured very well, especially that last one-lovely angle, the excitment is palpable.
Wow, Flynnstone, those are some super pics. You surely had a good holiday. And echo Josh's welcome to POTW.

Home bound for much of the weekend-duty calls. And it has been overcast and raining since Christmas day, so not much of a chance to even get to the Botanical Gardens as I had hoped. In the few moments of sunshine, the garden has to do to satisfy the clicking finger, and uhm, plenty of weeds, among them the ubiquitous Dandelion.

And my first sighting of a yellow tomato

Thanks Josh, they were taken on the Oregon coast on the Tillamook bay and on my way home off of hwy. 6 in the Tillamook forest.

I haven't been shooting much lately but I did have the camera out for Christmas dinner at my daughters where we were introduced to to Boomer, her new puppy, a Pug/Beagle mix she calls a Puggle
K5 and DA 40 Limited. ISO 3200,f/2.8

Well it's back to the bird feeder with the Makinon 135mm this time. I've never liked this lens but with the shots I get sometimes I think I'll keep it and not like it a while longer...

One I've been trying to get for a while. Usually when the Chickadees fly they're already airborne and all motion blur...this one was ready for take off...

White Throated Sparrows have been showing up but seem to be pretty shy, I don't get many at close range. They like to hang around this wood pile though.

My favorite of the bunch was the 1911 Hudson, which was mostly gray metal and brass fittings.
