Firstly many thanks for hosting last weeks challenge sealonsf. Some real nice entries last week so it came as a bit of a surprise to be picked out

This week’s challenge is ‘Silhouette’ - Not sure if this has been a subject in recent weeks/months so apologise if it has. I don’t think people need any examples/explanation for this one but have posted what I think is the only Silhouette shot I have in my collection. Perhaps if I see a few other great shots it will spur me on to try and shoot a few more.











This challenge will run until Tuesday, 14 January, midnight PST.

The fine print:
1. Post one photo (max 1024 X 1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single photo in this thread. If it's not obvious, explain what motivated you to submit the photo and how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4.The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5.The judge will pick the winner, who will then host and judge the next week's challenge.
6.The challenge closes after seven days.This allows a day for the judge to pick the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung) DSLR is acceptable.
8. Photos can be from any time frame, not just the week of the current challenge.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge of the next week's challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass on the baton to that person to host and judge the next week's challenge.

Very cool! I don't think I'd be able to live in a place where the sun never sets... or is setting all the time, depending on how you look at it.

Mde 1970, I don't envy you on this one. Seems you chose a very popular subject.

No kidding! But hey, I'll jump in the fray!

I didn't really have anything worthwhile in the photo library, but I found this on South Mountain last night.



K-5 IIs and Zeiss Sonnar 135 f/3.5, which has been my favorite lens for the past couple of weeks.

was on vacation when I took that pic. I live in MO. Was hard to get used to all that light. But would go back. The pic in the mirror just jumped out at me so I just had to get it. thanks again and have a good day. elf photo

I could also title this photo as - Framed! Here is the reason why. I was trying to get a silhouette of my daughter and her husband, standing face to face framed by the arch, with the Taj as the backdrop. Looking through the K-30 viewfinder, I felt they were standing too far apart. When I suggested that they move closer, this this what they did. I had to shoot!

This is the first time I am entering this contest, so please bear with me if have erred in the posting.

I like a lot your idea "image inside an image in another image" the way the mirrors and the surroundings are working, nice. Great work
