#273: Work
Posted By: rbefly, 01-22-2014, 09:33 AM

Hello everyone,
Thanks to Keith for last weeks' challenge 'Speed or Motion' , that was a fun subject. Congratulations to all the entrants for the great photos, too.
This week's subject is 'Work' as in, a productive activity. More of a street or candid view of any type of labor, effort or task, whether paid or volunteer.
Any of the day-to-day tasks that make the world go around, from delivering the donuts to the night watchman. Man, woman or child, anyone making an effort to keep everyone safe, happy and useful.
As usual, be creative, tell a story, have fun!
Ron

The rules;
This challenge will run until Thursday, 30 January, midnight PST.

The fine print:
1. Post one photo (max 1024 X 1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single photo in this thread. If it's not obvious, explain what motivated you to submit the photo and how you feel it represents the weekly theme.
4.The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5.The judge will pick the winner, who will then host and judge the next week's challenge.
6.The challenge closes after seven days. This allows a day for the judge to pick the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung) DSLR is acceptable.
8. Photos can be from any time frame, not just the week of the current challenge.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge of the next week's challenge, the winner will PM the #2 winner and pass on the baton to that person to host and judge the next week's challenge.

Attention to detail while working a detail.

This shot came to me right away. It's a street scene in Provincetown Ma. and the officer was directing traffic but his attention was on the young lass on the right.--charliezap

Dam Ice! The temperature was about 10 degrees F and these guys were chipping the ice off the sluice-gate chains. Not fun at that temperature.

Sand Dam

Took this in Kenya while reporting on a community project there. The whole community works together to build a sand dam across the river making it easier to draw water from shallow wells in saturated sand rather than deep wells in rock! Everyone works in shifts. Everyone. The most amazing project and the most amazing community cohesion I've seen. This little man was just having a short break.
