Potw #6
Posted By: Bramela, 04-13-2008, 01:16 AM

Hi, it seems I am hosting this weeks POTW from "Down Under"
POTW #6. 6th to 20th April.
Looking at Dave's #5 you all supported with some really great shots.
Lets all come up with some equally good material for this weeks.

Here's the link to the First POTW #1 to get an idea of how it works https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/mini-challenges-games/22484-potw-1-a.html

The rules are simple:
1) No theme just your favourite stuff.
2) lets keep it to about 4-6 images just so the thread doesn't get too big each week
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days April 6th to April 13th
5)Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Next Sunday I'll pick a host for the next week from the entries.

Here's my shots to start, taken this morning, a very foggy morning with a great deal of dew.

Here are a couple from the weekend trip to the Houston Zoo.

The Houston Zoo is located in Hermann Park which happens to be in the heart of the medical center. Life Flight helicopters are constantly flying around. If they aren't on a call they are practicing.

I think that this was a great idea. Lots of really great shots here. No theme. No Contest. Just an oustanding group of photos.

DWS :Houston zoo

DWS, nice shots from the zoo. The shot of the flower (Abutilon aka Chinese Lantern) is great.
That is also what my shot is at the beginning of the thread.
Yes it is good to just be able to share your shots with those you know will appreciate them, without competing or criticizing.
Keep them coming they are all very enjoyable. Well done all!

Some great stuff this week. Nice to see the weather improving for so many.
gpaual, Nice old barn shot. Looks like a great building to do a series on (go inside if you can someday). The robbins are busy. Now you need to find the nest.

Woof, great shots. Love the old gnarly tree.

Great capture of the Muskrat Dave. I like the last shot of the goose as well.

Nice series frank and for the tools and being hand held they are that much more impressive.

Nice shot of the beach Magicman. I can't wait till the days are warm enough here.

dws1117, all are great but I really like the flower and the second one. I see you have to bribe your models to pose!

I got up to the Coeur d'Alene River Sunday. They have opened the season to include spring fishing this year, woooohoooo.
Here is what the road condition is upriver from Shoshone Work Camp

Great if you're a snowmobiler:-). Of course the best fishing starts here:-).

These guys were thick Sunday.

I've got some more but gotta get to work.

My Best Black and White

Great shots I love this idea ...

reknelb - great reflection off the water !

Kim - that is a very interesting tomb stone indeed, never seen anything like it. Nice flower shots as well.

Eaglerapids - that scenary looks all too familiar nice capture on the bug ! He should be frozen...

This is from an after dinner walk a couple days ago. I was playing with frames , realized I suck and for $9.00 I culd buy a photoshop action , choice was pretty simple Here is my best Black and White for the day.

[IMGWIDEleft]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2190/2419505910_762843cab9_b.jpg[/IMGWIDEleft]

and yes to answer the question - the other 'end' was immediately sniffed after (BTW my Dog is the black one - old coot !)

Dave, love your interpretation of B&W. Reminds me of a well known Scotch whiskey advert.

Its good to see the photos being posted. They really interesting.
Some must be wondering, why I haven't been posting up. Its been rain, rain and more rain over the last few days. Haven't got out at all.
Here's one I took in my backyard on a very dewy, wet morning, not a great shot, but its all I have at this time:
