Thanks for all that entered this (somewhat random) challenge. There were some solid photos, and I appreciate everyone's work.

Honorable Mention:

Especially drawn to the fiery red nail polish, interesting how it works not only with the background but with the darker red of the wine.

Nothing like stopping into a local pub for a pint or two - nice balance with the camera/lens in the background.

Unique lighting and background. Nice shot!!

2nd Place:

Love the lighting and background! Really like this shot.

And the winner:

Amazing detail on the mocha - the barista should be applauded!

Thanks so much -- wow I am judging two contests at the same time! And am losing internet access as I move this week... this should be fun.

The mocha was made by Cafe Noir, Limerick, Ireland. It's a new cafe with very nice coffee. I took this with my 43 limited which was a little difficult due to the rather long "close" focus. ISO 400 f/2.5 1/30s.

Yeah, totally forgot I put in the freezer, made quite the mess also, but sure tasted good when it was thawed. Made for a good picture also.

Had another mocha yesterday but it was not so perfect and the scene was not set in the same iconic way, with the newspaper and an empty saucer behind. This looks like a staged shot but just happened... and might not happen again so perfectly.
