Weekly Challenge #56: Perspective
Posted By: atupdate, 04-28-2008, 03:37 AM

Welcome to the Weekly Challenge #55: Perspective

We all have different ways of looking at things and this week's challenge lets you show off your unique perspective. In photography, capturing a unique perspective could involve a wide angle lens, shooting from the ground up, or using an object to provide an interersting leading line.

Please submit entries by 7 AM EST on Monday, May 5, 2008.

The rules are as always:

The rules:
1. Post ONE photo (max 800x800) as a response to THIS post.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be colour or B&W, your choice.
3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish, but I'd be interested to know the location/event/whatever being depicted.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. The challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.

Hi all,

Haven't joined the weekly for a while...
I put this pic up in the "pet-a-day" thread, but when I saw the weekly contest, figured it applied at least as well here, maybe better...
DA 10-17, @f/5.6, 30s, ISO 1100. of course I used a tripod.

Here's my dog's perspective on the world:

I am in NC on business, and while it's a pretty city, I just don't expect to take a new shot between now and the deadline which I like as much as or more than this one...

Ruby in 3D

I am trying to use my imagination as to interpretation of the challenge - perspective. Sure, I have lots of cool self portraits done with the Fisheye lens but I wanted to show something a bit different.

This is a shot I worked on a while back using the Pentax 3D adapter. Aside from the obvious photographic faux pas of blown highlights and a slight blur on the left side, I like it! This is our little Shih Tzu "Ruby". She is very photogenic and loves to pose.

All you have to do is sit back from your monitor a bit (try about 18") and slightly cross your eyes. You'll know it is right when you have a 3D picture of Ruby in the middle. It is just a different way to view a 'normal' flat image.
