Thanks for hosting Stephen. My brother bought an empty and broken down vintage Gulf service station in a very small town in the North Carolina mountains a decade ago as a future fixer-up restaurant. Fast forward ten years and it's scarily nearing completion which he certainly never envisioned.

I spent yesterday shooting motorcycle races. From the nosebleed section of the grandstand with a K5 and Sigma 70-300. I needed to get high to clear a fence.

I have been trying to capture the glorious blossoms before the late spring thunderstorms put an end to the moment of colour. Both taken with MX-1 for the Single in June challenge.

Got a chance at two dragonflies I've never been able to photograph before. This one was this morning, first time one ever let me get close. 50mm f1.7 and flash.



This one was a few days ago, one I've never seen. HAd the 135mm Makinon mounted, no way it would sit there and wait for me to go chance to the 50mm...



And got some more shots of one in the air a couple of days ago, better than last time and better light too. 135mm Makinon again





And a Scissor Tailed Flycatcher this morning with 135mm and flash. They seem to be letting me get closer...

Many thanks for hosting again, cif, and your shot is a cracker - that looks huge fun. Lots of lovely summery pics this week especially of nature and wildlife. Not much time here but was able to get out a couple of times, dodging around the English weather i.e. grey and wet. The second shot with the cat is a real "black cat in a coalmine" number and has an effective ISO of about 6K after pushing in LR so I'm quite pleased it has come out at all.

Thanks for hosting again CIF, some cracking good shots in this weeks POTW. Paleo Pete- love those dragonfly shots. And love that "pots and pans" shot Mecrox- full of character. A few from me-mostly from the Single in June Challenge.


A truck made entirely from discarded aerosol cans- the wheels are the nozzle parts, the tank made from the middle section, and the rest flattened to create the rest. Creativity at its best.












And our first day of real winter weather produced some icicles on my car. Shot with the FA 35-80-not really a Macro lens by any means.
