Project 52-6-16-SUBJECT-VEHICLES
Posted By: noelcmn, 06-03-2014, 11:05 AM

Welcome to PROJECT 52-6 for the year 2014.

PROJECT 52-6-16- Subject-Vehicle

Images for Project 52-6-16 are to be taken between the 2nd June 2014 and 8 June 2014.

Some of the past winners:

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3035/3007692713_beb91e891f_o.jpg (2nd place)
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4045/4484663791_83e41e5eba_b.jpg (another 2nd place winner)
My apologies- all the other winners from previous Project 52 are no longer available.

As can be seen, another popular subject for Project 52, and well worth having a look at the past winners-besides being inspirational, good for the eye to see.

Rules
1. Anyone and everyone interested in the challenge is eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-6 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by non Pentax cameras are allowed.
Cameras may be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot, Medium Format, et cetera.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from thread start date to listed closing date is acceptable. You may request to submit a photo outside of the time frame, but its acceptance is dependent o the judge of the week. Please try and keep to within a day or two (either way) of the week. This is to make allowances for those that would like to participate, but for one or other reason, are not able to do so during the time given for the challenge, such as illness, weather, travelling etc.
9. The WINNER of each weekly challenge is the JUDGE of the next week's Project 52-6.
10. The Facilitator (in this case noelcmn) may participate in the challenge, provided he/she is not the judge.
11. Closing date for the challenge is Sunday at midnight in your time zone. Late entries are accepted but subject to the acceptance by the current weeks
Judge.

Good luck everyone, and happy clicking!

Red + Black

Hello Noel,
Here's my entry, taken today. The red + black color combination seemed like a natural. K-5, DA35AL @ f/5.6, 1/100s, ISO 80.

Cruise-in Reflection
This was captured during the cruise-in held on Saturday evenings in the parking lot of an auto parts store next door to a restaurant in Midland, Michigan. I also like a horizontal version of this photo.
I enjoy photographing automobiles and portions of automobiles. I also enjoy talking with the vehicles' owners and spectators at car shows and cruise-ins.
Handheld Pentax K-x, SMC Pentax-F 1:4.5-5.6 100-300mm at 220mm, 1/1000, f/5.6, aperture priority, center-weighted averaging, ISO 800

This is the only photo I shot this week which has some relation to vehicles, and here is the evening of Sunday. I may change it if I come up with a better shot tonight.
So it'd my entry if the judge accept it as related.

Just a recent capture of a clean motorcycle I liked at a local rally. It wasn't heavily modified but I just liked the way it looked.

Shot Raw on my K30 38mm at f/11 with my favorite lens the 16-45 f/4

I can post this shot thanks to Rule #5, since I only had my Canon A1400 in my bike handlebar bag. Settings in 35mm equivalents: 75mm, f/5.6, 1/800s.

I thought since I am around cars and trucks all week long I would go nonmotorized. I took this shot this morning prior to my ride, K-30 Tammron 90 f2.8 macro 1/125, f 2.8 iso 200

Patrick, I'm interested in the mirror you use on your Nishiki. Looks like it's lashed to the grip. Can you tell me what mirror it is? Thanks!

Believe it or not, but this is my car's windscreen on Friday morning. It is out in the open. Our first real show of winter.

It is a Diamondback grip mount Flex bike mirror. The base is formed to fit roughly 1/4 of the way arond the handle bar grip with a velcro strap laced thru it to hold it secure. I liked the fully articulating arm for the mirror head . Which is convexed so it has a fisheye view.

Thanks, Patrick. I've not seen handlebar mirrors like that one which attach with a velcro strip. Most seem to plug into the bar-end (my bike has barcons) or to the brake grip.
