Tran (dantuyhoa) has asked me to be the host the coming week. It is already Sunday evening here, so here we go:

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favourite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days May 5th to May 11th
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

I would like to recommend using pictures not older than one week at the time you post, so this will keep the two weeks total time span but as the week passes the posted pictures will be current for a running week span...

Next Sunday I'll pick a host for the next week from the entries.

let us begin...

I have not had much time to get out this week hopefully soon. It is another great week.

Rosemary I really enjoy the portraits you have been showing. Very crisp, good colors , nice pose and framing.

Eaglerapids - that is a great shot of a nasty wasp.

Kim thanks for the comments. Laundry is fun when someone else does it I think

Bud - yes basketballs are like spiders they have 360 vision. I am not sure what is better the comment on your pictures or your pictures - well done I enjoyed them both.

woof - very sharp - great colors framing well done. Congrats on the anniversary and nice rose.

Arjay - that is quite a capture - love the beak!

James - thanks for the comments on the hoop shot. You have a nice variety my favorite being the beach shot - oh I soo miss the beach! I do like the wall art as well . Very colorful.

reeftool - nice pose on the first one ! And congrats to your daughter's crew .

Georg - beautiful flower - white is hard to expose correctly and that sculpture is interesting.

Tran - nice street art are you and James on walkabouts together?

Duh Vinci - wow now those are macros - unique perspective very well done.

Some really wonderful shots have been posted this week. Well done to all posters!

Last week or so I have been rather busy and not much chance to get the camera fired up.
Grabbed a macro shot of a Kangaroo Paw ( Anigozanthos) this morning. Not the greatest shot, it was done using a Macro teleconverter on a Pentax M 135mm 3.5, experimentally really.

That girl, in fact, gave me a dirty look when I snapped that shot while drinking some lemon bitter.
Hmmmmmm... she shouldn't have walked into your shot then

This is my retreat on weekend to relax, sitting by the seaside getting some sun exposure to stablise my mood from the preceding week.
Need to find me one of them places. Should look while I'm on holidays!

The only real shots I've taken in a couple of weeks...

Thanks Kris.
Lovely shots of the wildflowers Dave. Great to see the Nthn Hemisphere Spring shots coming to the fore.
Daves shot of the Basketball hoop is certainly an original take on that subject.
Krs: I dont like the chances of the Ugh boots survival. Lovely shot of your dog.
I am finding the insects and flower choices are diminshing as we go into the colder weather here.
Well Done all !!

Great series again this week. I've had zero time to do any shooting as work is over the top. But I was looking for some graffiti for Lowell's thread and it seems all I can find is boring old 'tags' so I decided to take some shots of "Urban Decay".

What I love about this shot is the ADT security monitoring sticker in the window. Would you bother to break into this place?

Kookaburra

I caught this shot of a Kookaburra yesterday. Had my Sigma 135-400 on at the time.
The light was very difficult. Perhaps an ND filter may have helped a lot, but not possible.
These fellows can be the friendliest of birds, though wild, can become real pets. Will feed from your hand with a bit of coaxing. Not this particular one though.

It's refreshing to see so much Spring colour. Over here it is of course Autumn, and with no rain to speak of, things are somewhat more monochrome.

I'm an absolute novice at framing, and aspire to developing the sort of eye I see reflected in all the previous posts.
