Thanks to Stephen for hosting last week but it sounds as if he's been busier than a few well-photographed bees so I'll take the reigns for this week. Post away with your best shots - but - don't expect his clever and careful comments. I'll do my best to keep us rolling for the moment.

It's been a lean time with the camera but I had to take few shots of one of the churches I've been working for. Simple buildings but always lit up by the stained glass.

Red Wasp, pretty common in Texas, and this one decided to leave me alone while I got up close and personal for a few shots.

Wow, what a start. Beautiful shot, Dave. Such clarity and a lovely balance to it.
And Pete, amazing stuff. That red wasp looks positively prehistoric. I like the way insect macros completely throw the notion of 'normal' out the window.
Keep 'em rolling. Bear in mind I'm in Australia so my time zone for comment is probably a fair way off when you're awake.

SpecialK - love those sand pics. Looks like you got down and dirty (or sandy) to get them. I'm always amazed by the quality of the work. The robots sculpture is terrific. You handled the light well at the beach.

lukulele - I just came back from watching Guardians of the Galaxy. Your first shot looks like one of the ships. Really nice captures.

I just posted these in another forum, but then saw this picture of the week thread and thought they'd be appropriate.
This hawk landed on a fence post alongside my driveway not more than 15 feet from my back door. I put on my DA 55-300 zoom and snuck around outside for a few pictures. I love the monotone.
