#299 "Wrapped..."
Posted By: SpecialK, 09-18-2014, 05:15 PM

Thank you all for the nice comments about my Observatory shot. And thanks to Tess for getting more out of it than I see :-)

This week's theme is "Wrapped...".

It can be something hidden or covered, or "under wraps".
It can be a "gift-wrapped" present.
It can be a book-reader "wrapped up in thought".
It is your interpretation.

Submissions can go till next Friday night. I will judge on Saturday and try to post the winner on Sunday.

Here are a couple starters. I hope yours are better!

I think this was before I went to Elements with a "Leveling tool" :-)

And the usual "rules":

1. Post only one photo (not too big :-).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and optionally explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the winner and notify them to judge the next challenge.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winner.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, the current winner will pick an alternate judge to host the next week.

Bungee Girl

Wrapped can also mean a restraint or safety device, like here at the bungee bounce. The girl is wrapped securely, but still able to enjoy her ride.
Taken 09/01/2014, K-5, smc A 135mm, f5.0, 1/1,250s, ISO 100.

I took this at our local aquarium. I always liked how the eel - I think it is an eel - is wrapped around the rocks. It is very rare for it to be out in full view

Our Upstate NY winters are cold, long and harsh but we do find creative ways to amuse ourselves. One of the ways are the annual "Outhouse Races" on Lake George. The different teams have to pull/push an outhouse across the ice in a race. It's a lot of fun and there is a lot of creative "outhouses". This one is wrapped up like a gift.

Congratulations- was this recent! Too cute! Consider resizing this-the image loses some impact when it is so large.

Congratulations Scomatic! Enjoy every minute, the time will go by faster than you can't imagine. I have 4 sons, my "baby" turned 31 a couple of weeks ago and has a child of his own. Though grandchildren are really cool and I love mine dearly, nothing compares with the process of watching your child grow and guiding him or her to a successful adulthood. It isn't easy, but it is so worth it.

Keep them coming. Two more days to go. Here is one I could not find earlier, from 2008 in Sacramento...
