Winner - Weekly Challenge #57: Night Scenes
Posted By: dave kitson, 05-13-2008, 11:05 AM

I would like to thank everyone that entered an image in this challenge.

I claim no particular artistic skills, and the variety of the images is so great that I find it genuinely difficult to judge the relative merits of the photographs.
In the event, my selection is based simply on the effect the image evokes in me personally.

In 3rd place:

Ansbert's long exposure: A striking image.

In 2nd place:

Jeff's 'out for a little stroll'. There is a sort of fairytale quality to this shot that I found very appealing

The winner:

Stephen's petrol station (gas station in Noth America, I guess). For me this image has a tremendous wow-factor.

Congratulations and over to SCGushue...

Once again, thanks to all entrants.

Couldn't agree more with your choices.
Great photos all.
The winning shot is simply stunning...even if it is a shot of a gas station...

Congrats to the winners and all the entries. Excellent stuff once again. The Gas station shot is stunning and IMO what made this work so well was the car hood.

Congats everyone but most specifically Stephen.

Yes it does have a WOW factor - the colours and the reflection MADE the image yet, it TOOK imagination and a quick thinking "eye" to capture this image.
