PROJECT 52-6-35- SHUTTER SPEED-Fast
Posted By: noelcmn, 10-12-2014, 12:44 PM

Welcome to PROJECT 52-6 for the year 2014.

PROJECT 52-6-35-Shutter Speed-Fast

Images for Project 52-6-35 are to be taken between the 13th October 2014 and 19th October 2014.

Rules
1. Anyone and everyone interested in the challenge is eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-6 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by non Pentax cameras are allowed.
Cameras may be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot, Medium Format, et cetera.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from thread start date to listed closing date is acceptable. You may request to submit a photo outside of the time frame, but its acceptance is dependent o the judge of the week. Please try and keep to within a day or two (either way 92% the week. This is to make allowances for those that would like to participate, but for one or other reason, are not able to do so during the time given for the challenge, such as illness, weather, travelling etc.
9. The WINNER of each weekly challenge is the JUDGE of the next week's Project 52-6.
10. The Facilitator (in this case noelcmn) may participate in the challenge, provided he/she is not the judge.
11. Closing date for the challenge is Sunday at midnight in your time zone. Late entries are accepted but subject to the acceptance by the current weeks
Judge.

We move onto another Camera related challenge, this time its Shutter speed- Fast Shutter speed. Lets see you skills at capturing a BIF, a motor boat or some sporting action. And to encourage you, some previous winners- from some of my favorite photographers on the forum,

Good luck and happy clicking.

Funny. I had originally typed the question as to whether cannon cameras were that bad, but I deleted it, and ask the mirror question instead.

No. Just having a little fun at Cannon's expense by blaming Cannon for the picture being reversed.

Sorry for the photo just now. Now I just get another decent photo from my Nikon D6000. Tampron 70-200mm lens, shot at 200mm with F22.0, ISO 100 and 1/50 ss

Note: the photo was cropped..

Original Poster
I'm going with this one, though it is somewhat difficult for me to choose one as I have taken a few yesterday. I like for its combination with some abstract background. and of course swallows are way difficult to capture as they are so fast.

If you are interested in seeing some of the other contestants-they'r on my flickr page.

Taken at the beach, this is heavily cropped. A small version of the original is posted for comparison. Taken with my K-x and Sigma 28-80mm f3.5-5.6 Macro II; settings: ISO 400, f20, 1/2000 sec., 80mm focal length, manual focus.

Here's the original:

I finally had a chance to get out today at noon for about an hour. The only time I had available all week. I thought I was going to have to miss this weeks challenge. This is taken with my istDL/Tamron90Macro. Iso 200 f5.6 shutter 1/1500 .
