Posted By: tessfully, 11-11-2014, 06:21 AM

Open to interpretation, of course! Have fun

The fine print:

The Challenge will run until midnight next Sunday, 16/11/2014, whichever time zone you are in.

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Focus Concentration - Lost in thoughts

Keeping focused and to concentrate on some work for so long can lead to getting lost in your thoughts while doing said work.
Hope you like this shot

Guarding the DMZ

I took this picture when I was stationed in South Korea. This was during a DMZ tour. I consider him being focus and concentrated at doing his job

An elderly gent keenly watching his grandson in a local football match. He comes to every home game and prefers to sit out on his own on the hill and watch, oblivious to all. The lad is top notch player in our local competition and destined (we hope) to reach the top level in Australian Rules Football.

I don't play an instrument, but I've heard that to remember the many notes of long compositions, musicians break the music into mental scenes and "go" to these places where the muscle memory then takes over. Over a long career with many compositions, I can only imagine how important that can be. I think this image of Steve Howe captures that...the concentration, yet drifting off to a place that brings all the notes out in the correct sequence without even thinking about it...

This photos in this challenge are way beyond my expectations. Just fabulous, book worthy, excellent work. Judging will be very difficult. Open till Sunday night. Still 3 days to contribute to this fantastic set.

Don't worry about it phoenix vision. I will consider this one during the judging. Both are very apt!
