#309 - Sprouts
Posted By: sealonsf, 12-19-2014, 02:12 PM

Thanks, Hattifnatt, for your theme for the last challenge and for your insightful comments.

Since we are approaching the new year, I'm thinking along the lines of "Sprouts" - babies, baby animals, young plants, sprouting plants, anything just starting out in life. I know I'm setting myself up for a difficult job to judge, but I'm looking forward to seeing your entries. Have fun!

I'll get the ball rolling with some "Sprout" photos of mine:

The fine print:

The Challenge will run until midnight next Saturday, December 27, Pacific Time, USA.

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Day 9

This is Polar at nine days old. He is one of the 50 puppies we have fostered over the past two years.

The sprout finally opened.

The morning glory sprout when it opens to a flower only lasts for one day but it is full of pollen and the bees are really active with their gathering. All through the late Summer there are sprouts waiting their turn to show off in Nature's colorful presentation.---charliezap

Went canoeing for 30 days in upper Northern Quebec last summer. That was one of the only fresh food we can have for days... put the seeds in a humid container for 4-5 days depending of the temperature... We were happy to eat fresh salads with those alfalfa and beans sprouts...
