It was Mother's Day in the UK yesterday. Knowing my mum's love of Owls I booked a surprise Owl experience at the Wilstead Bird of Prey Centre.

I've got to take more photos this last week than I have in quite a while. These were from a rainy morning walk in Clarksville, Tennessee, where I got to spend a couple of days. It's really good to have a weather resistant combo, some of the rain was pretty hard, I was drenched.

Went to the zoo earlier this week. Here are the highlights.

Taken with the sigma 18-200, k-50

TaV did a great job in dim lighting. Noise is neglible. I just love the colours - they pop!



Was amazed at how sharp this lens can get. My eyes are hurting..



And then in dim inside lighting..



But the chimpanzees made me so sad, I couldn't stay to watch..





For wolfiepup the absolute highlight was the tiger...

Howdy again and thanks for hosting Noel.

Haven't posted here recently...been getting some shots, just haven't popped in...

This combination tells me spring is off to a good start. Flower is a Spring Beauty, a couple of bees were hitting them pretty hard.



First butterfly sighting of the year and I actually got a shot of it. Long Snouted Butterfly



Went to Canton TX a few days ago and just outside Jacksonville is a rest area with a scenic lookout. Valley below the trees in the foreground was an Indian trail, then was used as a pioneer road. Around 1925 the land was given to the state by the owner's family and it's been a park ever since.
