Welcome to another round of Picture of the Week (POTW). This is edition #369, covering 13th July - 26th July 2015.

POTW is a great spot to show off any shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.
2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat.
3) Any Pentax or Samsung camera, film or digital.

Many thanks for hosting, Hattifnatt. Only time for one-and-a half outings with a camera in the past week or so. The main one was to a Battle Prom, an afternoon/evening of music, canonfire, a Spitfire flypast, fireworks and much smoke and skirmishing Waterloo-stylee. You take a picnic. Great fun.

Hello fellow Pentaxians,


It looks like I am the first this time (oops turns out I am the second). I had to test my new K3 so i got some wildlife lined up to take some pictures ;-). I managed to get 663 photos. So had a hard time to find the best ones.

For everyone wondering, I did not travel to Africa but went to the Zoo.

The first photo is a baby baboon contemplating about life.
The second one are two Red Crown Cranes.
And the third one is an otter praying that his photo (or 1 of the other two) will win ;-)

Not much time for photography, as I am preparing for the Church Council meeting, where I must not only chair, but present the financial and ministry reports. In between, I visited the Apple Store to sort out a problem with my Mac. They have a really nice garden, in which there is this sculpture.




Sandton City- probably the economic hub of South Africa, if not of Africa.

A couple of shots taken this week with my new (to me) DA* 60-250mm lens on my K5.

The first is a shot at sunset looking out over the Broughton Archipelago from Donegal Head on Malcolm Island near sunset. Exposure 1/100th sec, f5.6, ISO 800, DA* 60-250mm f4 lens @ 250mm, handheld.
The second shot was taken last night, also at 250mm, but tripod mounted, of the moon and Venus in the evening sky here in Sointula. The inset is a 1:1 crop of Venus to better show the 50% illumination/phase of the planet. Exposure 1/30th sec, ISO 160, f6.3.

A friend invited some photographers to capture images in the home garden where his wife grows many varieties of daylilies plus other flowers. Here are three captured with

An old recluse began building it in the 40's or 50's for his fiancé who died before they married. He spent the rest of his days finishing it and teaching young men the values of chivalry. He died in the early 80's.

My wife did a hard trail running race last weekend. 9.2 Miles and 1700 vertical feet to a high alpine lake and pack. She's been training for months and did great! I put in about a 10k with my camera trying to get photos.

My test pictures, in the garden yesterday after unboxing the K-50. Needless to say I only let it get to 20% charge before I had to use it.

These strawberries didn't last long after I got the picture I wanted.

My orange tree - so young, and so stubborn. I keep wondering if I should remove the baby oranges, but everything I've read says that orange trees are smarter than lemons and limes, and will drop fruit it can't handle. So we'll see?

My equally stubborn peach tree. This poor branch was broken most of the way off the tree in a freak storm last month, but it keeps growing peaches. I can't safely prune it off until the electric company finally removes their wires...

And the two sets of flowers... I'm drawing a blank at what they are called.
