Dave : Thanks . I bent the flash extention to include it in frame . Those two were quick snap , really . But with the 1.7x TC I can isolate and getting close to the subject with some safe distance. Got a few cactus needles in me earlier already .

Nice kettle corn series . I bet they are yummy .

PentaxLoyal : Great action catch . Look at their faces !

woof : really like thos bokeh .

Rosemary : Very interesting shot . Look like flowers to me ?

No cropping here

Will be interesting to get some feedback on this one, lol
Hey Rosemary, it's not as colorful as some of your others, but I'm lovin' the effect.

Wildman - Those birds are amazing! Such incredible detail. What lens were you using?

Hey folks, have not been able to be on-line so much this week and missed most of this POTW so far. Anyway those bird pics from Wayne and Wildman are absolutely superb!

Wayne - wow stunning colors on that last one and that eagle is well majestic

Alan - nice effect was that with the zoom or a lensbaby ? That's the only way my dancing would look good (blurred) haha

wildman - more stunning bird shots , #3 is such a great closeup

Well done all keep 'em all comming

dws1117, Beautiful shots and a great Eagle capture. How did you get so close?. The 3rd one is also excellent

Wildman, glad you could join us. incredible stuff and now that Walter is gone, you and dws1117 are now nominated as the new "bird guys" Wonderful images.

Rosemary. You are really getting impresionistic with the majority of your shots. Interesting stuff. The normal discriptors do not apply and your work doesn't require expensive glass either. An added plus. Why not ask everyone to vote on your site?

maxwell1295. Cool shot. I like the effect. it works really well.

Another great week of shots, folks!

Wayne and Wildman... excellent birds!

Here's my shots from the yard for the week...

Bugs with Vivitar 105/2.5... hummingbird with DA*300 (Sorry, Daacon, they're the only lenses I seem to be using lately )

(All shots "clickable" for larger image)

Still not sure what kind of fly this is... but they're fun to shoot

Dragonfly that landed on my son's shorts while we were hiking

Hover Fly - love those compound eyes...

Harvestman (Daddy Long Legs)

Female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird basking in the sun... she held this position for well over one minute... it was really interesting to watch

And one more...

A "rarely-performed-by-me" black and white conversion.

Snail Shell (C&C appreciated on the B&W thing)

Unfortunately I cheated. This eagle is a resident at the Houston Zoo and not able to run away.

Thank you for the compliment. I do love to shoot (pics) birds, but I am not even in the same league as Walter, wildman, or even Bud. Those people, among others here, do provide much inspiration.

Bud All of yours are terrific, but the last shot of the hummer is superb. That is definitely PPG or better material.

Dave - here is your rabbit's southern cousin.

It was a mistake. I shot the dance floor at 1/80 and got a blurred shot. I liked the original, but decided to play with it anyway. I used motion blur in GIMP to get to get that effect. I really do want a Lensbaby though.
