It's nearly August and so Holiday Time is here for many of us (or Vacation Time in North America, I believe), so share with us an image about holiday/vacation time, whether your own or of other folks enjoying the same. For example, it could be mainly about landscape, a beach/sea shot if it's summer where you are, at a funfair or other event, food and drink, tourists getting up to all sorts or stuff, or up in the hills somewhere quite different at home or abroad. Whatever or wherever it is, the key element is "Holiday/Vacation Time", simply enjoying the world while on vacation, long or short.

Contest will close Tuesday night at midnight (GMT) - on 04 August.

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Everyone is eligible to send in their best interpretation of the given theme, as long as the photo is taken with a Pentax/Samsung camera. Themes can be subject-oriented or technique-oriented.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

HOLIIDAY TIME

In the USA what we consider holiday time, is Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. Holiday time over the big pond, here we call it Vacation. Might want to change your title to reflect that.

I took my wife and son to Kauai in February to meet up with my parents who were staying there for a few weeks and had a rented house. Great trip! One of the highlights was a boat tour to the Na Pali coast which is spectacular! I shot this pano handheld with 18 exposures (K-3 & DA* 16-50). I had to work on the stitching since the swell was moving us around as I shot.
