Thanks to Stu for a great job of hosting the last Weekly Challenge.

I'm looking for photos that convey or directly show emotion. Emotions can be subtle or they can hit you over the head. Humans and animals have emotions. Happy, sad, silly, fearful, bored, startled, and others. Show me what you got.

This challenge will close at Noon EST on Monday, August 31st. (7 days from now.)

This contest will close at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time, USA) Saturday, August 22, and be judged (barring complications) on Sunday, August 23.

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week. This challenge is Pentax/Samsung-only.

Everyone is eligible to send in their best interpretation of the given theme, as long as the photo is taken with a Pentax/Samsung camera. Themes can be subject-oriented or technique-oriented.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Differing emotions.

Mark and Buddy, Pentax LX, SMC-M 50mm f/1.4, 400 TX pushed to 3200, Rodinal 1+50 for 33:00. Buddy isn't Mark's dog, but another person in our complex. His owner does not know how to handle dogs and Buddy was timid, aggressive, and unwilling to take commands. In fact, Buddy bit my arm one time while under the 'control' of his owner. Mark volunteered to train Buddy and in a few months the dog was completely different: obedient, trustworthy off-leash, friendly with other people and dogs, and, in fact, I can safely scratch Buddy behind his ears when Mark has him now. Mark doesn't have a whole lot, so the dogs he watches and trains for other people are the most important part of, and focus of, everything he does with his life.

This pitcher was in a semi-final playoff game of a local wiffleball league. He was the team's captain, and one of the two pitchers. His power-pitch led the team to winning the semi-final and they are now preparing for the final playoff.
