Let's back to nature,
I'm looking for photos that show any creature/animal (except human beings) with its food/catch/prey, eating it or whatever. The wilder the better.
This can include birds, animals, insects, any living thing.

This challenge will close at 23:59 GMT on Monday, September 7st. (I'll judge it Tuesday morning, Malaysia time)

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week. This challenge is Pentax/Samsung-only.

Everyone is eligible to send in their best interpretation of the given theme, as long as the photo is taken with a Pentax/Samsung camera. Themes can be subject-oriented or technique-oriented.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Nice theme, i'll dig out this old shot taken with the K200d, a Panagor Auto macro converter and a Petri 50mm. A pretty primitive attempt at macro,i remember how difficult it was to bring out something remotely good with that setup

I was a bit intimidated at first to try this but the laughing gulls in Florida took the food with surgical precision without nipping my fingers. At 18mm they were much closer than the picture shows.---charliezap

This doesn't meet the wild criterion, but here's a gorilla hoarding food. Zoos don't feed gorilla proper nutrition, compared to their diets in the wild. Gorillas are too strong if they're properly nourished. So when they're fed grass they chew it, regurgitate it into their hands, and re-eat it over and over. This is the only way that their bodies can digest the grass and recover any nutrients at all. The gorilla's hand is full of regurgitated grass.

This Northern Saw Whet Owl is holding a mouse in his talons that he is saving for later. For an owl this breed is very small, about 7-8 inches long.
