PROJECT 52-7-33- Subject-Back to school

Images for Project 52-7-33 are to be taken between the 22 September 2015 Tuesday and 29 September 2015.

Rules
1. Anyone and everyone interested in the challenge is eligible. The goal continues to be have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques
with fellow Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-7 thread for the week. Explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by non Pentax cameras are allowed.Cameras may be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot,
Medium Format, et cetera.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is active to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from thread start date to listed closing date is acceptable. You may request to submit a photo outside of the time frame, but its
acceptance is dependent on the judge of the week. Please try and keep to within a day or two (either way) of the week. This is to make allowances for
those that would like to participate, but for one or other reason, are not able to do so during the time given for the challenge, such as illness, weather,
travelling etc.
9. The WINNER of each weekly challenge is the JUDGE of the next week's Project 52-7
10. JUDGE may participate the challenge, but the picture of JUDGE will be comment by 2nd and 3rd WINNER, and there is no podium place for JUDGE's picture. *** New Rules ***
11. The Facilitator (in this case scomatic) may participate in the challenge, provided he/she is not the judge.
12. Closing date for the challenge is Monday at midnight in your time zone, this will encourage people to snap the picture during weekend and post it up on next days. Late entries are accepted but subject to the acceptance by the current weeks JUDGE. ** Amendment **

JUDGE need to provide either with Option A or Option B or Both AB options criteria when during JUDGEMENT *** New Rules ***:

OPTION A (Just provide 1-10 point on each criteria and average out is the overall point)

Visual and aesthetic criteria
- Framing and choice of viewpoint
- Background
- Design elements and principles
- Visual impact

Content
- Emotion / Mood /Feeling
- Relevance

Viewer’s response
- Excitement
- Interest

OPTION B (Good / Bad comment)
Example:
the good: Composition is perfect, I like your lighting. blah blah blah
the bad: I think leveling the horizon would be better, the blown out highlights on top left are distracting to me. blah blah blah.

Overview:
This is a photo opportunity you don't want to miss. Whether it's their first day of Kindergarten, entering their first year of college, or anything in between, the first day of school is special and you'll want to have your camera ready to go.
Here are some back to school photography tips to help you capture all of these precious moments.

Think Outside of the Box
Kids smiling for the camera always make a nice picture, but you might like something a little out of the ordinary even better. Try photographing kids from behind. On the first day of school you will see the excited posture of their walk onto the bus or into school with their new favorite backpack they picked for this year.

Get a Close-Up
Make sure you do a full head to toe photo to capture what they looked like at this time in their life. Then, zoom in close and do a few portraits to remember the features of their face at this age. They will inevitably get annoyed after a few shots so keep shooting and grab some of those funny candid moments too.

Sorry folk for so long didn't turn up this...

Same for me, we have a handicap here... unless you have a press (journalist) card and can argue you are a freelancer pro. people will find this weird, mainly with some DSLR like the K200D having a "nice" shutter noise. Maybe 135mm could help, but hard for some of us to win, when you have no childs and when there are no schoolbuses in your country, when all child are brought to school by their mum or dad...

But I thought of getting one (press card), my flat owner is in this business and I'm gonna see how I could get one even if it had not been my job yet, this card opens you almost all doors in my country.

I should take a picture of a full campus parking lot. Summertime, you can park most anywhere - anytime. Now I have to get to campus extra early to get a spot. I'll see what I can come up with.

Noel... seem like this topic is very cool, and no body interested to participate... so this challenge is officially closed.

It is actually a cool subject as noted earlier, but I guess either its school holidays (which is currently the case here) or the weather makes it not worthwhile. A pity! I was looking forward to the entries on this one. Maybe move it to another time?

Hi Noel,
I got a plan... how about we let this challenge open until the end of the year...
and they can put in what ever date in this time frame?

Not really, the idea of the Project 52 challenge is to take the pics in the given week. Maybe you can squeeze it in somewhere. I'd certainly like to give it another go.

One thing to think about with this particular challenge is, unless you're shooting your ownkids going to school, you could be considered a "creeper". In the world we live in today, it could be seen as pervy.
