332 - Path
Posted By: sealonsf, 10-27-2015, 05:35 PM

I like the idea of a path, a path through the woods, a bicycle path, a walkway, a garden path, a route or track along which something moves (the path of a hurricane), or even the path your life has taken. Be creative, have fun with the idea.

I'll start it off with a few examples from my photos.

This challenge will close on Monday, November 2, midnight USA Pacific Time.

Everyone is eligible to send in their best interpretation of the given theme, as long as the photo is taken with a Pentax/Samsung camera. Themes can be subject-oriented or technique-oriented.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge

Here is a shot of a foot/bicycle path in the resort community of Seaside, Oregon. Typically on landscapes and seascapes I do not include people. However, being this is a resort community which attracts folks from around the world, the people and their activities are not out of place, they just fit. Also, I like the perspective of the lamp posts on the right and telephone poles on the left. Thanks for looking, Tonytee

"PATHS" has been an especially satisfactory theme. I've enjoyed every image that's been posted.

I agree. Getting older may have advantages, but it's a very short list. With all the money we give the government, they should be able to do something about it.
Hello sir,

I am wondering how you are holding up. Are you feeling any better, hopefully?

Regards,

Tonytee

Beautiful photo. I especially enjoy the way the path/road sort of snakes it way through the foothills. I see you also have to contend with atmospheric haze, however it does fit in here very nicely. Where is the park located?

Thanks again for a great pic.

Doing well at the moment. Will know better after I'm briefed on some tests being run, but there won't be a full report until early December. Feeling fine, but slowing down. Cannot do the time I'd like on the elliptical.

... and maybe also the path of life, with youth fading into the distance and old age moving closer.

I believe it was the British author, poet and playwright W.Somerset Maugham who said: "How unfortunate that youth, is wasted on the young."

More and more I have come to believe that youth is everything one can hope for. Too bad so many people (including myself) don't realize it until it's too late. Well... let's see what we can salvage

As I recall there was some doctor who made a deal V-A-V staying young. Didn't work out all that well. To my students: imagine keeping every personal computer ever built back to the original Apple functioning like new. That's easier than keeping all the cells in your body functioning perfectly.
