#333 - Descent

Welcome to Weekly Challenge #333 - DESCENT

Thanks to sealonsf for a wonderful challenge last week and to all who participated.

This week, show us your interpretation of descent experiment with your point of view and angle, or go even deeper with the theme.

The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

The Challenge will run until midnight next Thursday, November 12, 2015, whichever time zone you are in.

1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Fine by me!

What goes up must come down right ? Ascent could be a theme for a next challenge.

I don't frequently participate to challenges, but I couldn't let this one go! I think this picture represents this week's theme.

I shot this picture in 2009, when I was 18 after the ascent of the Weissmies in Switzerland. I had a K10D + 18-55 which has recently been replaced with a K3 and some (much(better)) lenses 😃

I've done some editing (mainly cropping and darken the shadow on the foreground) at the time, and I'd probably do better/diferently nowadays, but I think it's part of the photography 😊

I hope you'll like it as much as I enjoyed being there and taking the picture! 😊

You can check the full image on Flickr by clicking on it. Any comment (here or on Flicker) is very welcome

Descent makes me think of gravity sports which are all my favorites (bikes, skis, & boats).
This is Oh Be Joyful Creek after a kayak race on the upper portion of the river. Only the best (and/or fearless) attempt this class 5 run. WAY out of my league!

Woke up to find that an overnight storm had made our morning descent a bit more challenging.
