Welcome to Weekly Challenge #336 - Bonds of " ... " (Tenderness, Friendship, Love)

Thoughts of Dieterson's 10 week old baby and thinking about the bonds I have shared with people, animals, and even deep connections with home and place, lead me to this topic. Fill in the blanks and show me how you interpret this theme.

The fine print:

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

The Challenge will run until midnight next Tuesday December 15, 2015, whichever time zone you are in.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Since foster puppies have been my primary photographic subjects for the past couple of years, this was an easy selection for me. I am still amazed at how gentle large dogs can be with their puppies.

I pulled into the North Jetty in Venice Fl. just before sunset and these 2 were getting ready to enjoy a romantic sunset. I shot this through the windshield of the rental car.

Wonderful examples already for Tess' heart-warming theme. I've not participated in the weekly challenges in a while because of other obligations, but thought of this photo immediately on reading the theme, so had to join in. This pair of starlings clung together for warmth and companionship last winter when the weather was atrocious and temps didn't rise to zero for days on end.

If anyone doubts the bonds between animals they are a fool. Taken during a trip to a local wildlife sanctuary.

This was taken in October in the Soho area of NYC. These two clearly had a bond and I felt they truly needed each other.
