Yesterday I shot my first paid gig as a wedding photographer. I took about 4,500 shots between the wedding and reception (101 gigs!) and have a lot of processing to do. The bride asked me to pick out shots of the couple that they could use on their thank you cards right away. Here are some that I picked out. These are all straight from the camera (except for the downsampling) so forgive any small sins, please.


The deacon, who's telling a humorous story here about the couple, is also the groom's father.


The groom's father also performed the vows.


Here's the couple as the father blessed the wafers and wine.


Between the wedding and reception, we stopped at the waterfront to take some posed shots.


With a bit of a crop, that could be a good photo.

I'm getting out a bit now that it's been over four weeks since I broke my collarbone, scapula, and a couple of ribs. I'm still slow and tender and on snowshoes instead of skis but happy to be getting out a little farther from the car! Looking forward to skiing again too!

It's been very cold lately. We live in a valley and when the inversion sets up it gets downright arctic. At least it's a dry cold. Unless you go down by the lake!
It was -18 when we left the house but I bet it was -25 or colder by the lake which is a bit lower elevation. But it sure is pretty!
