Thanks for hosting Stu. Fridayt was my annual trip to Magee Marsh and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. It took a while to go through 1400 images, I shot on high speed burst most of the day and have tons of duplication. It was a nice day to be there, unfortunately there were no clouds in the sky, and only the earliest arriving warblers were present, so warblers were kind of scarce for Magee Marsh standards. But there was still a lot to see.

One of the last photos of the day featuring a pair of Trumpeter Swans and the sun sinking behind them, my favorite photo of the day:


Earlier while on the driving tour I pulled up to a pair of Trumpeters who stayed right there, a few feet from the car. That close I really got to see how massive these swans are, they easily could have stuck their heads into the car window and reached in.

Here's an early contribution from me. An unusual noise woke me up at 6:45. It was my alarm. Then I noticed another unusual noise... a Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane hauling off the second half of the Bartle Hall tower-topper about 3 hours before I thought it was going to happen. I ran to my lens cupboard, decided on the K135/2.5 and snagged a few shots, the best of which I believe you are seeing right here.
