POTW # 19 7/6/08 to 7/20/08
Posted By: maxwell1295, 07-13-2008, 03:09 PM

Since so one posted the new thread, I guess I can get this week started. I be out of town scouting colleges upsate later this week, but it is pretty simple to start the thread.

Feel free to post any topic you enjoy that was photographed between July 6th and July 20th.

Rules as before:
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days <Sunday Date> to <Sunday Date>
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Previous hosts: 1 Peter Zack, 2 Eaglerapids, 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan, 10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295....

I'll start off with few from the last few days.

Good lord, this weeks thread is so high quality in artistic respect that I had to consider hard what to post!

Rosemary, your saturated colours have infected me, so I tried to learn a little from them... this is my daughter with Elsa.

I love this shot! It is just pure fun and giggles It looks good!

A couple today

A couple of shots I grabbed on a very cold and dewy morning in the garden.

Mexican Petunia

Taken in our front yard. The blooms die after one day and this was the only time I saw three flowers on one stalk.

I admire anyone who can take portraits, all are so good. Gawan, love your shot; I can't tell if your daughter or Elsa is having more fun. The tennis shoe shots of both Maxwell and Peter were too much. This has been a great week so far.

Alan : Thanks . We shoot the images based on that fairy/angel/fashion girl in the cold world so everything has some connection to it . In fact your excellent "broken wall" photo would be great for it, too. The "dancer" photo was played along the Singing in the Rain but instead of rain we had sunshine . I think I know what you had in mind but that would be another subject hahaha .

Here is one I called "Organic Sunflower " :

This one is using the red art piece for framing aka the rigid "society codes " imposing on us whether we know it or not

Georg (gawan) : What a cute fun shot ! That should be framed and displayed in your living room .

Rosemary : I do like that BW version from Alan . Please show us more .

Bruce : I need to do some dew photo like you . I often used my VS One on tripod/mono pod . Hand held that heavy lens is too much for me !

Slowpez : Nice flower shot . I need to learn more about the names . Thanks for sharing .

I would have liked this last one a bit more if one of the guys had not moved forward.

Rosemary : Thanks . The shoot was fun but took us two weeks from the first contact to get it done .

Yes , they do look like brothers . They might be even having the same nose

I like this one! very unique POV too

Hm, in person they dont look like brothers. I guess you cant tell by the pics but they have very different noses. One looks very muchlike their dad and the other looks like his mother. Even their skin tones are different. LOL

Who's afraid of ISO 3200

My son and daughter play Munchkins in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. I was able to use flash during the dress rehersal; however, I couldn't stay the whole time. Below is a picture of my son and daughter (the boy and the second girl from the left) using my DS, DA18-55, and Sigma flash.

Of course, I couldn't use flash on night. This left me with my DS, DA 50-200, and a monopod.

1/30 sec, f6.7, ISO 3200

1/60 sec, f5.6, ISO 3200

1/45 sec, f4.5, ISO 3200

I wouldn't want to print them poster size but they look nice at 4"x6" for the kid's scrapebook.

Vivi 105 Macro

Thanks Tran. I do agree the Viv 105 handheld is a little heavy for a real close up and requires tripod/monopod to get a real quality sharpness.. It is manageable without nevertheless..
