WEEKLY CHALLENGE # 353 - "Down to earth"
Posted By: simon_199, 06-08-2016, 09:02 AM

I am really pleased to be the host and judge of this week's challenge !

This week i'd like to see "shots taken with your camera close to the ground", or anyways well below the level of the human eye, if you don't want to hurt your knees .
I think this kind of framing can produce interesting pictures, and this time in particular i am not looking for the typical macro shots of insects crawling in your garden, but rather for
shots that convey an unusual perspective and exaggerated proportions.

The choice of subject is yours, it can be a landscape...

...a luxurious interior...

...or anything you like !

Hope you enjoy the challenge !

Contest closes in 7 days from the time of posting, here in Europe it's around 6:00 PM, so the last day will be next wednesday, June 15th.

Everyone is eligible as long as the photo is captured with a Pentax/Ricoh/Samsung camera.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Ricoh DSLR ) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Red Trillium

Changed my mind and decided to go with my usual...

From this Spring. I had to lie in the leaves and used a rock to balance my camera, all the while surrounded by a cloud of black flies trying to bite me!

I like a "go to ground" perspective and there are so many terrific examples entered here already. You'll have fun judging this, Simon!

I took this photo at an exhibit of classic cars at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. I was taking photos of all the cars and looking for the interesting angles as the cars were in a somewhat constricted setting. In each case I tried to find an angle that would compliment the elegance of the car.

It was really a toss-up as to which photo to choose, but this car was so beautiful it became my choice. I hope the photo gives you a sense of its style and beauty.
