Weekly Challenge #65 - Blue and green
Posted By: Fritz, 07-19-2008, 01:09 PM

For this weeks contest I was trying to come up with a simple subject that hopefully everyone who wants to can participate in. So this weeks subject:

Blue and green

So what I am looking for are photos that are comprised of mostly, or all, blue and green elements. Simple enough? edit: To add some clarification, I would like blue and green in the picture. But there could be other colors as well. But I wanted the blue and green to stand out as the feature colors.

Please submit entries till midnight PDT on Saturday, July 26th, 2008.

The rules are as always:

The rules:
1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be colour or B&W, your choice.
3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish, but I'd be interested to know the location/event/whatever being depicted.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. The challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.

Previous Challenge Subjects:

Here's the only thing I have that fits.
Hey racinsince55, no fair trumping my cute kid shot with a cuter kid shot. At that age, they've never met a ball they didn't like.

Nice shot.

Glad I am not judging this one. A brilliant display of photos with a wide variation of ideas on a theme!
The response has turned out even better then I had hoped. I will have my work cut out for me!

I tried to take this week while on vacation but didn't see any. This is the closest to the theme but not quite since not predominate colors of the blue and green.

While a little late on the timing...

A shot from the rock cliff and gassy slop of the 500' hill behind the house. The Beaumont Hamel making her 15min trip to Bell Island veering slightly off course instead of a direct run across the 'tickle' as it's called to give tourists and sightseers a view of the coast just outside St. John's. Colors not enhanced, no adjustment in contrast.

For God's sake man, whichever lens that was shot with (the kit?) - take good care of it... It's clearly taking good care of you.

Nice to see everyone's photos as always.

F-Stop: Newfoundland is the only province I have not visited, and I always wished I had the opportunity. Mind you, now I live in Ireland I feel it's been done!

I was going to say my FA50 but looking at the exif it's 45mm meaning the regular kit lens with a poor quality polarizer. The day was absolutely amazing, best colors and reflections I've ever seen. I have a few pano's I need to stitch together after that day.

rparmar, you found the next best thing or perhaps better. Ireland is a place people desire to go and for good reason. Newfoundland is more of a hidden gem of scenic adventures changing drastically depending on the area of the province you visit. Everything from rocky coasts to barrens up to the the Appalachian mountain range with breathtaking fjords of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Gros Morne National Park (I haven't been yet myself although 8hr drive away). It's definitely a great place to take pictures no matter where you go, if the weather is on your side. Can't complain this year with it only raining twice in the month of July and every day sunny.
