Weekly Challenge #9 - Post Processing
Posted By: Scott Rylance, 02-14-2007, 04:40 PM

Something a little different.....

Weekly Challenge #9

The 9th weekly based challenge here, for anyone who is interested.

The rules are as follows:

1. Post ONE photo (max 800x800) as a response to THIS post.

2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be color or B&W, your choice.

3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish, but I'd be interested to know the location/event/whatever being depicted.

4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.

5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.

6. The challenge runs for 7 days plus a day or so for the judge to choose the winners.

7. Any camera will do but it must be a Pentax.

This week's theme will be "Post Processing"
Now what I need is Two photos posted. The first pic should be the original,(just resized) and the second one, after Processing...(cropping, contrast, brightness, B&W, whatever) you get the idea.
The subject can be anything at all, but you must have a before and after shot posted.
A little or a lot can be done, you choose. I don't need an explaination on what was done,(can be added if you choose to).

The challenge starts now and ends on Thursday, Feb 22nd, 10.30am EST. Good luck!

Former Challenge Themes have been:
Week 1 - Statue
Week 2 - Wheels
Week 3 - Speed
Week 4 - Peace
Week 5 - Survival
Week 6 - Macro
Week 7 - Mountains
Week 8 - Children

Closed? Your first post says it will be up until Thursday the 22nd.

This was a difficult decision for me. I was going to enter with another pic that had more initial impact, but I decided to go with one that showed more emotion.

The end result is actually hanging in my home. I took it a few years ago with my old k1000. I had it enlarged, but I just was not happy with it so I scanned it with my $80 all in one printer/scanner and played around with it on photoshop.
The final product captures emotion that the original lacked.

- Hmmm...11:55 pm EST on Wednesday Feb. 21. Scott lives out in Australia, and so according to his clock, thread was closed 9:00 am (?) his local time on Feb 22 (them being a day ahead of us). Scott? Last minute entry from this side of the world ok? It's on time according to our clocks here.

How about using GMT for deadlines next time? Everybody probably knows the difference with GMT but maybe not with all other various timezones. I know I'm +2 GMT but I have no idea whats the difference with any of the popular US or Asian or whatever timezones for me.

No problems guys...a few late entries are fine. Just give me a day or so to pick the winners.

just a thought.... could ask Mo if there is enough interest
